Looking for a used $150-$250 bike

I'm planning to go on a 200-400 mile road tour in Texas. I'm looking to buy a simple, used bike in the 150-250 dollar range that can do the job. I don't need fancy stuff. Just so long as the bike is sturdy enough to deal with 35 lbs over the rear rack over fairly long trips. I'd prefer a light mountain bike or hybrid-type bike.

According to the guys at Outback, my current bike will prob break down mid-trip. It's so old they don't think it's worth it to replace all the parts.

    My cell is 254-214-9022. Thanks.
