    Stolen bike alert!

This really sucks... My road bike was stolen sometime last night FROM OFF MY BALCONY. It was locked with a quite thick masterlock cable w/ combo lock. I don't remember if it had a guarantee or not (don't think so). I never would have expected someone to come to a second floor balcony to steal a bike, though it is quite easy to gain access to.

Anyway, its a 2002 KHS Flite 500, rust red, with ultegra/105/tiagra mix. If anyone sees it around town or at a pawn shop, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I have already filed a police report and hit the pawn shops today. I'm guessing if it was going to be pawned, they probably would have done it already, but I'm going to keep looking for a good week.

My phone number is 254-760-5477 call me immediately anytime if you think you saw it!

That sucks man I know how it feels. I had two bikes stolen from inside my house in the fall. I'll keep an eye out.

You're not going to find your bike in a pawn shop the day it is stolen. There is a holding period before they can resell it. Don't ask the owners about it because it might just disappear.

You happen to know how long that hold is? Also if anyone has any other suggestions as to what I should do, or where I could look, I'm all ears.

Yeah, the lock was gone also. I looked in the dumpsters and alleys nearby, but didn't see it dumped anywhere.

Yeah the pawn shops usually hold stuff for 30 days or so. You're not even allowed to find out if they have your bike unless you show up at the pawn shop with the police officer you filed the report with.
