    sti shifters/lx fd

    Compatable? I don't think so.
Three days I've been trying to dial it in. New cables and housing. Tensioner in place. I can only get two rings dialed in. Either 44/34 or 34/24.
Yes it's a triple ring AND a 3 ring shifter. Also a three ring circus come to think of it. Any ideas?

STI Shifters are not compatible with MTB components. You need to get a triple road FD

You didn't ask this, but just in case your about to try this: I know for V-brakes you'll need a cam made by "Problem Solver" to make them work with road brake levers. I've heard that is a less than perfect solution though.

I didn't know a Shimano MTB der. wouldn't work with Shimano road shifters though.

only on the front. road shifters and mtn shifters pull different amounts of cable and the cages are designed for different size rings. they usually don't work well at all when you mix and match rd and mtn front shifters and derailleurs.

James is right. I'm running triple but only two work.
