We NEED You!!

In addition to bluebonnets and thunderstorms, it is the time of the year when we reach out to all our members, friends and everyone in the mountain biking community with volunteer calls for upcoming events. Please check your calendars and volunteer when and where you can. It is not only a fun, satisfying experience, you’re helping us keep on doing what we do!

The Austin Ridge Riders is very fortunate to have several opportunities to raise funds to support our club programs. In addition to our Spring TMBRA Race we have been extremely lucky to b be able to partner with the fantastic people of New Belgium Brewery who brings two great events to Austin and allow us to earn precious dollars in exchange for volunteer support.

Where do I sign up?

To prevent misinformation, typos, and transposed numbers, experience has shown us that the best way to get accurate information is to have you register as a volunteer online.

Below is information on upcoming volunteer events and links to the various online sites for Volunteer Registration. We appreciate all you do for the club and look forward to seeing you at these events as a racer, a spectator or, our favorite…. as a VOLUNTEER!!

The Bicycle Sport Shop Pace Bend Race & Mountain Bike Festival
April 14 - 15
For this event sign up: http://www.BikeReg.com/15543

The big daddy of them all! Over the course of the weekend we’ll need over 100 positions filled. This volunteer registration sign-up has been set up with specific positions as well as several trouble-shooter, person-on-the-spot assignments.

Please email Laura @ arrwebsite@gmail.com if you have any questions about an assignment.

Course Marshals will need a bike to get to their assignments. For most of the other positions you do not need a bike or even need to be a mountain biker so get a friend to sign up with you.

The Austin Rattler 100 - Leadville Qualifier
at Rocky Hill Ranch, Smithville, Texas
Saturday - April 21

Volunteer Registration can be found here: https://www.bikereg.com/Net/16027

Oh Yeah!! This is going to be a show. Capped at 1,000 riders this is going to be an insane event and your Austin Ridge Riders have been asked to help support for this awesome event.

Details on volunteer assignments, times, etc. are still being hammered out and we are generally going to provide helping hands and able bodies for whatever Paul and other Race Staff need. Be ready to work! More details will be provided as they are received but regardless, you want to be there for this! One thing we know is that we may be involved in serving and accepting donations for beer. In order to volunteer for helping out in the beer tent area you must be 21 year of age or older.

Rocky Hill Ranch, the famous 1,500-acre mountain biking playground will host the inaugural Austin 100 mountain bike race, the first 2012 Leadville Qualifying Series event. Solo riders will be eligible to qualify for the legendary Leadville 100.

The Urban Assault Ride™ is the biggest Bicycle Obstacle Event series in the nation! Here's how it works: Two-person team set out on a city-wide quest for 'checkpoints' on their favorite two-wheeled steeds. At each checkpoint, the teams must drop the bikes and complete a funky/adventurous obstacle course, then remount bikes and hit the streets for more. The goal is to complete all the checkpoints in the shortest amount of time. Each teams chooses their own route and checkpoint order. This means that the team that is the most clever is often the victor.

As in past years, our volunteers will man the crazy check-in points. Register today!
