    ARR Ride Calls???

I see a few postings on here notifying forum users of rides being cancelled, but I don't see any actual ride calls other than the 2014 RLAG schedule. Where the heck are ARR rides called?

I either wait until TAF posts it or try to keep an eye on their website if I know something is coming up. It looks like they're most active on Meetup but I never get notifications from there so I only use it to RSVP. They don't seem to utilize their Facebook page often either. :/

All the ARR rides are posted on Meetup and usually Facebook. this site is too much maintenance to keep posting ride calls. I usually post cancels on this as I know some folks don't use meetup and are regulars as the Sunday ride. Not sure why you don't get notifications from meetup and you might check your settings.

Good topic, I haven't been monitoring this section of Mojo as it doesn't' get a lot of traffic so I'm late to the discussion:

I'd be interested in hearing preferences for where Ride calls should be posted to get the most attention:
    - Meetup: notification goes out to 1800+ people (if you don't get emails, check your settings), it also provides a place to discuss the ride, post photo's, it sends reminders before the event, and allows us to cancel. This is the best push model, but there are people who just don't want to sign up.
    - ARR web page: we have been having big problems with the web page infrastructure this year, a whole new web page is under construction and will ultimately link to Meetup for events. Pull model:you have to go to the page to get the info so limited audience.
    - Monthly Newsletter: posted there and sent to all subscribers (~450 people), but no way to notify of changes. Push model but no update method
    - Facebook: notifications are usually posted on the ARR wall, but dependent on the flaky nature that news feeds have, once posted it's lost to the people that liked the ARR page within minutes as their friends postings scroll through (Look at the picture of the meal the restaurant just served me...look at my children, aren't they soo cute....Ebola is going to kill us all... not it's not... yes it is...etc.).
    - Facebook Events: we don't use this as it won't let us invite people who have liked our FB page, it's very limited.
    - Mojo: we could start using this, but which forum?
    - Other ideas?

So post up your preferences for ride calls. Remember everywhere the ride calls are posted is a manual step to post them, and another place updates and cancellations need to be done, so if you would like a note pinned to your front door, well... we need to maximize the reach.

    Thanks,
    Lloyd - ARR Comm Dir

I just want to know of one consistent place to find ride calls where the info is kept up-to-date. Habit and tradition have me checking the ARRMBC forum on here, but I know many people have forums. I've used Meetup before for a few different groups, and it works, but it seems clunky at times.
