    Leadville 100

I recently moved back to Texas after living in Durango for several years. I raced the Leadville 100 a couple times while I lived up there. I had to have my neck fused so I am just getting back on the MTB and running a lot. I entered the Leadville lottery expecting not to get in but I did. Does anyone have any tips on training for that kind of race at sea level? I know how I trained before but that was with mountains in my backyard.

I see you are in Houston which has extremely flat trail. Do you plan on racing in the TMBRA race series?

Its not altitude, but we have heat and humidity which some with their own lack of oxygenated air. I find myself peaking in the summer because that's when I get my most mileage in (8-5 Job with nightly rides and weekend jaunts). I know those altitude masks look cool yet don't work. There are plenty of people that compete in that race from Texas, if that is any consolation.
