Question MTB ride from PaceBend to Reimer or MuleShoe Bend? Possible?

    Hi folks,

I'm planning to ride PaceBend this Saturday morning, and to avoid my wife having to shuttle me from PB to either Reimer or MuleShoe Bend, I was planning to ride my mountain bike from Pace Bend to either of those parks. So, is there any shortcut, gravel road that I can use to maximize my time between trails? I looked at google maps, and it seems I could do PaceBend to Reimer, not sure if this will be closer than going to MuleShoe. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I know of no off road or gravel routes, but I haven't searched. My dad lives between Reimers and Pace Bend, I'm pretty sure it is pretty much all private property, would likely at a minimum have to trespass to do it. There is a road route you could take that on Fall Creek Rd (The only other way I know of to go is 71/busy hamilton pool rd, this route at least takes you in from the less busy side of Hamilton pool). It's about 30 miles of small hill country roads.

Muleshoe is much closer, last I rode on Paleface Ranch Rd wasn't too bad traffic wise, again I don't know of any connecting routes but I've never actively searched. The lake would get in the way.

Great Joroshiba, that works for me. I was afraid I'd run into private property from Reimer. Probably I'll do PaceBend to Muleshoe then, it is only 15 miles I looked up here! There is a stretch of Hwy 71, but I guess it shouldn't be too bad, right? Thanks again!

You'd likely have to be mad to try it, but I've always wondered if you continue down Hamilton Pool Rd from Reimers (toward Cypress Mill), and keep veering left along smaller (probably dirt) roads that you can see on Google Earth, if you would eventually be able cross the Pedernales at the rock formations into Ped Falls Park, and ride those trails over to Flat Creek. Hmmmm, might have to drive down that way sometime.

Here was a pipe dream of sorts that I was trying to put together riding between FCCR->Reimers->Pace Bend

TAF, I just don't know the area at all!

Mr. Sellers, I really like your videos, and the cursing too, lol! Who knows we can put a gang of riders together and make that dream reality?

I know this is a side bar for the thread but....

How viable are those connector routes between the trail systems? Are they "known and used" current routes or segments?

    Thanks

They are pipe dream connectors at this point

It had been mentioned that going out that back gate at Reimer's *might* be a possibility with someone that knows the land owner. Never followed up on it though. As I understand it, there is 1 land owner separating Reimer's and the road there that could lead you to Pace Bend. Never got further than just kicking it around though.

Can you clarify? Pogue Springs and Hogge Preserves are part of Reimers, but I don't know what the management plan is for either. Or are you asking if there is an accessible road on the east side of the Hogge Preserve that would provide potential access to the Reimers trails?

In the yellow box, is there a way to connect the two sections together? Those trails around/through the preserves, are they sanctioned trails or did someone just ride through and posted to Strava?
