    How's Lakeway-Bee Cave area?

    Hi Mojos,

Moved out of Austin about a year and a half ago. An opportunity has me coming back! Thinking about moving to the Lakeway - Bee Cave area...how is it around there? Any constructive input would be appreciated.

I like it out here. Although I work from home so I don't have to deal with commute issues. Close to Greenbelt, Mt. Lakeway and Pace Bend, all fairly close. Everything else 45-60 mins away.

I've been in Bee Cave for 11 years.
Try to buy "inside" 620/71 intersection...this will pay dividends on commute time not to mention home value.
Close to Mt. Lakeway trails, Pace Bend/Mooshoo...close-ish to BCGB, South Trails etc.

I live in SR so not quite that specific area-

    1. Traffic into Austin on 620 is a bitch in the morning and the afternoon
    2. Traffic around Lakeway when LTISD in session can be a bitch, as long as you time your departures its ok.
    3. We choose usually to go into Lakeway vs going into Austin if all things are equal, just easier to deal with.

I love living in the hills, around the lake and easy access to western trails.

Too many good trails and schools in that area. I'd avoid it altogether.

For my money, I'd live closer to the lakeway, rough hollow hood for quick access to two of the more fun trails in town.

I would want ability to ride my bike to lakeway mountain and a short drive to pace bend. Or maybe vice versa.

Thanks for the input y'all. I'll be in town to start work on the 28th, work is setting me up with housing while I work out where the homestead will be. Can't wait to get back, since moving to Houston, my shreddabilty has gone way down, can't wait to get back at it.

Rumor has it that the riding in that area is good and getting better. But you know that you can't trust rumors, right?
