lol yeah, my broken rear triangle is getting delivered back to my house today. so basically they told me to send in the rear triangle for warranty review, knowing it was painted before I sent it in, and once they denied the warranty claim and I got pissed off, they blamed the paint job. even though they had JUST instructed me to send it in for review knowing it was painted.. total waste of time and money on my part. paid for shipping twice and wasted 2 weeks of time

just a bunch of bullshit. evil sucks, their customer service is crap and they do anything they can to squirm their way out of doing what benefits the customer rather than themselves.

its all good though, it will catch up with them just like it did before when their company went under. im gonna pay a very reasonable amount on top of what I already have paid to have the rear triangle repaired along with the front triangle. then im gonna ride that bike like it was never repaired and put carbon repair to the real test. and if/when it breaks again, I'll just hang in on my wall in the garage.

and actually - im kinda torn as to what to do, im gonna get it repaired either way. but im contemplating just riding it until its dead or selling it after its been repaired for a heavily discounted price. but I already know all the BS I'll have to deal with trying to sell a repaired carbon frame to people who may be skeptical. what do you think I should do?

Keep it, beat the crap out of it and make a vlog about it. Itll come up in every google search lol. The sweet irony will be when the frame cracks everywhere other than the repair.

Then buy a Sentinel or Process 153 AL frame
    16 Process 111DL
    16 Honzo DL
    16 Private Jake

at this point, do you think that the negative press is going to make Evil more likely to change their minds in your favor, or are you burning that bridge in order to warn others?

I looked at the GG's(the Smash). Intrigued but the Race build is at the limit of my budget. The YT Capra CF has yet to be dethrowned from my new bike spreadsheet

Also, sorry to hear about all the problems you've had with Evil

lol oh man, I have no hope or expectation whatsoever that evil will ever do anything in my favor again. but who knows what could happen, maybe the CEO or someone high up there will one day see this story and realize how shitty they handled it and go above and beyond to make it right again.

but at this point im just telling the entire world about this experience to A.) preventing others from falling victim to this same bullshit, and B.) to make evil regret fucking over the wrong guy (me) after they start to see their sales decline.

this may or may not impact them to a noticeable degree, but from what ive seen so far, they've already lost exponentially more money than what they saved by not giving me a warranty replacement, just by how many people in Texas and now abroad saying they will never buy an evil bike after reading my story. and the story has only been online for a few days.

I work in front of a computer every day. fueling this online evil dumpster fire takes away nothing from me

Evil tests there carbon with a baseball bat, meanwhile we have video of the santa cruz guys wailing their frame against the corner of a concrete wall and they can't break it.

    I know who's frames I trust.

5:00 is where the wailing begins...

man all I can say is that im absolutely LOVING my GG Megatrail. aluminum, built burly but isnt near as heavy as I expected it to be, pedals well, and literally rides like a mini DH bike! I rode it for qa full day at Angelfire last weekend and I almost wanna say I had more fun on it than I dive my full blown DH bike.

I have nothing but great things to say about my GG so far

The first two tests are good reliable tests. Beating the frame against a concrete block does not tell us anything. Carbon fiber (or any composite structure) fails due to a small damage spot becoming a stress concentration that propagates to failure. Bang the frame on a concrete block then do the fatigue testing. That will cause the small local damage to propagate until it fails.

Only one year warranty. One of the few things that held me back. I like that 2nd year at a minimum. If a frame can make it two years, I feel like I got my money's worth.

Fair enough, my point though is Evil cracked their frame with their unscientific test and SC couldn't. I'll wait for Evil to put footage of their torture tests out to the public. Until then, those beautifully sculpted VPP frames will stay at the top of my list.
