When I was looking to buy, his Orbea unboxing video caught my eye...then when he said "orbea gave me this bike" I stopped watching...I wanted to watch videos with people on their new bikes THEY CHOSE to purchase, the bike they spent some time researching and chose amongst all others. Commercials don't interest me much. I avoid any of his videos now.

So here's why Seth was in Austin and not riding the local MTB trails. He's in the Crankworx dirt diaries competition this year and is featuring a local BMXer.

So what if he used a given or sponsored bike as an “unboxing”, which btw is something I think is ridiculous. He has decided to make a living making Youtube videos about mountain biking. I personally think he is one of the best MTB channels on YouTube. He tries to always give unbiased reviews of the products he uses regardless of whether they’re sponsored or not. He provides quality content even when he can’t ride. Speaking of riding he would most likely out ride most people on this forum. Let’s face it Central Texas is not the Mecca of mountain bike riding. He’s ridden places many of us can only dream of. He gives us insight into products and places. I initially thought he was just another guy trying to be a hit Youtuber but after watching some of his very first videos I realized he was offering more than just POV videos. How many POV videos can we watch of people riding in boring places or places that are beyond our skills or lifestyles. I like Seth and think he provides good information for all of us.

I think they were talking about BKXC - not Seth's Bike Hacks. The thread topic shifted to thoughts on Patreon, which is what got people talking about BKXC. Anyway, I agree that Seth puts out some really great content. I still watch some of the early skills videos posted by him and Skills with Phil.

Yeah I see that now. I have a hard time getting all the way through BKXC and The Singletrack Sampler videos. I think the guys that are keeping their videos under 10mins are easier to sit through once they start hitting the 12-15min mark I lose interest.

Same here and I really could care less about anybody's van build. Even Lenosky and Kendall-Weed are losing my interest. What I do watch in its entirely each week is Pinbike's Friday Fails - a constant reminder why I need to approach the sport pragmatically.

Do people in america buy orbea

In the end, most of it is like watching narcissistic paint dry. However, i dont slight these guys in the least and actually give them a bit of coin as they had the guts to do something outside the norm for a living and get paid for it. Getting up at the crack of dawn, pulling up a pair of khakis, strapping on lanyard and heading off to a cell, (oops i mean cubicle) isn't for everyone.

Same here on PB content. Guaranteed viewing for me. I was a total Trail Peek fanboy and their videos would get me AMPED to go ride! Then i would open my door and it looked nothing like the trails they feature and just made me depressed. Stop watching shortly after.

Yep! Don't ride my Alma too much anymore, but it's a great bike. Bought mine in WA state. Peddler's used to carry them locally.Name: IMAG2069 (2017_07_18 13_09_01 UTC).jpg

Kendall-Weed lost my interest when he started openly whoring his sponsors both before the actual riding and after the riding. I don't mind mentions and stuff like that, but the way Kendall-Weed does it annoys the hell out of me. I've stopped watching his videos because of it which is a shame because I like watching him jump off every root and bump in the trail.

World Cup players are whores. NFL players are whores. Nascar racers are whores. NBA players are whores. Politicians are whores. Business owners are whores. Business employees are whores... This world's system is one that promoes and rewards whores.

Shoot... America loves whores. And even loves whoring. Google "America the whore"... 37-million results.

    What ya going to do.

And we all support whores and whoring... In one way or another, and to one degree or another.

The real issue is personal preferences.

Some people are willing to whore one way... Other people prefer whoring another way.

The age 'ol... "My whoring is better than your whoring" deal.

Why can't we all just get along... Live and let live so to speak.

Oh shoot... There I go... Whoring community again.

The reason they include their van builds is because #vanlife is becoming a popular thing; there's a lot of interest in it and people want to see it... including myself. I've enjoyed van traveling for a couple of decades now, and still enjoy seeing what others, especially mtb'ers, do to their vans. In fact, STS's van build is what keeps me watching his channel, I'll bet I watch a higher percentage of his van stuff than his riding content.

So do I... I find DIY stuff interesting, especially when the result is well done and useful.

I think that this is something that tends to separate Seth's videos from others... There's an element of teaching/learning involved. He seems to be a curious person, and conveys that in his videos.

    True he does
And he doesn’t sugar coat his failures.

The end sequence of that last Eric Porter backyard video showing his attempted bunny hop up onto the back porch was hilarious! I had to rewind and watch it a few times.
Currently 3.0". With hard work and dedication I hope to see 2.8" maybe even 2.6"
