Yeah there are plenty of trails around here to "climb". They specifically said this is a bike park. The lift will help keep the focus on the downhill runs instead of climbing half of the day. I don't see what the big deal is if you know what kind of riding this place is intending to offer?

In NM we went to Glorieta our first day. We did the climb twice, and it was something like 1000 ft of elevation in 2 miles. That was pretty hard and only left me wanting to complete only 2 downhill runs. The next day at Angel Fire we got like 7 runs in.

The point I'm trying to make is 350ft doesn't sound like much but if you can double your downhill runs in one day why not?! Or if you do have to ride up, new place to ride right?!

Lift is also about length as well as elevation. As long as it isn't super slow. Will they have the traffic to justify having attendants is the thing.

There is a sketchy jeep trail on a hill near my house that I like to descend when I feel up to the climb, that drops about 300ft elevation top to bottom over a distance of 9/10 mile in a straight line... It would be well worth a lift for that height and distance; I would guess that this venue would be similar, if so... take my money!

I'm so excited about this, but I've never ridden Park. I want to be prepared so I'm considering setting up my house as a Park training facility. I'll shred down my front steps and then have my wife staged on the street with my pickup to shuttle me around to the back of the house. As I ride through the house, I can stop in the kitchen for a quick IPA and get in line for the next run down the steps. I can pretend that the Beagles are Park staff for extra reality.

Dude, you huck the steps... and don't you have a little bit of a climb from the back alley to your back door? That sucks. We need to harness the dogs to pull you up to the house finished floor...

I have the engineering department working on that. Might have to install a Bunny Tow system into the backdoor.

Ride motocross. Preferably on a vintage bike without modern suspension.

I dont support the attack on enduro peeps in this thread, but have you ever raced a single Texas XC race? Why sling poo as well on something you clearly dont know?

I've removed everything else I was going to post...

Looking forward to seeing this thing built, even if its a minivan taking folks to the top of the hill, it will be cool for the state of Texas. There is a huge appetite for this.

Enduro racers have to be very fit. The enduro race at Glorieta (sp?) in NM has about a million feet of climbing (according to my Strava analysis) as does the big one in Oklahoma.

Central texas XC racers have to be pretty damned technically adept.

Both have serious athletes that get my respect fo shizzle.

Also I can't really tell from the video, but is the soil and tread make up of the terrain comparable to RPR meaning will we have 2 dope ass places to ride in wet weather?
