    Banderabike

I'm not sure how I came across this, but curious if anyone has any experience with this place?

I almost started helping build that place but there were too many cooks in the kitchen so I never really got involved.

looks like they have been digging out there but havent seen anything crazy.

7 miles of XC trails, I wonder if that is the old trail that used to be on the old Tapatio hill golf course.....

Awesome, it looks to be a new ranch opening up for biking as of this weekend. It is right next to Hill Country Natural Area--that's some lovely terrain. Between the xc, Jeep roads (if necessary) and the Freeride stuff, it should make for a decent short loop that can be hit multiple times. I imagine I will have ridden there before the end of August.

Seems like all those cooks forgot to put a map to the place on their website. And they call the trails "lanes" that's kinda weird. Are they foreigners?

Okay, this joint is looking less appealing. I now see the "book now" option. They want me to book "singletrack" for $10 or "freeride" for either $14 or $40, depending on if they shuttle me. So if I want to ride all their trails, I'm looking at a $24 day without shuttle, or $50 with shuttle.

Considering what RPR, FRR and even FCCR has to offer for $10, $24 is gfys pricing.

Honestly it's not about the price per se. Bandera will simply need to offer a reasonable value for what they ask. 7 miles of xc? Mystery miles of "freeride?" Hell, it isn't even clear how to bundle both.

So, I take it back. I'm not going to be the one to tell er'body how awesome Bandera is. Someone else can find out if these trails are rockin', and they can tell me. They can find me riding awesome trails, both xc and "freeride" at FRR and RPR.

I like to make goals I can keep. One of my goals? Never golf.

    Thanks all for the input.

I'm willing to bite the hook, and give it a try (weather permitting on the 13th).

I've paid a lot more for a lot less in my life

    Fuck Golf!!

If I do, I'll report back my finding's

If the upper management at AustinBike world headquarters approves my travel requisition I might swing down there sometime now that I am retired to check it all out. IT is a hell of a drive for 7 miles of XC (I am too much of a wuss to do gravity drops), but I have gone further to do stupider things in my life, so I might get down there this fall.

This video randomly popped up on my feed today. Not an in depth tour, but it does give you an idea of what is going on. I am interested enough to at least head out and check it out next time I visit the in-laws in San Antonio.

This course is a new offering. We are halfway between Bandera and the State Natural Area which some of you are familiar with. We are a bike/hike only park (no horses)

For the guy who had confusion with the price, I believe you saw a beta version of the site. That code went live with an incorrect price schedule.

Pricing is simple, $15 gains you ALL DAY access to the XC, Pump Track and Slopestyle. If you desire the shuttle service for the slopestyle trails that is an additional $30 and is optional. The vertical climb is only 150 feet and many of the cyclists choose not to use the shuttle.

A skills course is close to completion and will be included in the $15 access fee.

This video was recorded mid-June. We have since packed the structures and the course is firm.

In my defense, I wasn't confused so much as I was following the consequence of the noted pricing at the time.

Anyway, I don't much mind paying a joint 50% more than I pay their contemporaries in order to ride some new trails. So, while I'm not in a hurry, I reckon I'll try it out before the year is done.
