He who controls the beer, controls the Mojo!

Before any thoughts of a garage raid, I'll have you know those locks are connected to a VERY large capacitor!

After the missus does her trip to CA we'll have to have that Mojo get-together. Maybe like mid-September. I should have a decent stock built up by then; hopefully with two more faucets mounted on the kegerator too.

Actually I don't have any interest in lagering. I just use the freezer as a fermentation cooler, it's set at 68F with an inline thermostat.

It's going to be hard enough letting that porter age all the way, let alone patience for lagering!

    VERY large capacitor!
would that be a flux capacitor? That way you could travel ahead in time to speed up the whole process.
    Where's the Mojo?

WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS BEER GEEK CONTENT

So Caffiend, looks like you're quite the homebrewing fanatic (cooking up 2 batches on a weekday!!!!). I used to be a certified beer geek too, but it's been a few years since I made any. Are you sticking mostly to extract or are you getting into partial mashing for stuff like that oatmeal stout you've got going?

BTW, nice setup for fermentation. When I was in full production mode, I had a vertical freezer for fermentation with temp control and an old apartment-sized fridge for kegged beer. Now they're gone but not forgotten. Once you get a good stock of ales, you really should try a lager, it's worth the wait...mmmm...oktoberfest.

I'm doing extract right now, just the Austin Homebrew full kits with a specialty grain steep. Actually, I'll soon be switching to all grain brewing, but the results I've been getting from extract have been good so I'm not in a rush.

Thanks! I think I'm going to convert that freezer to a kegerator for the house. I'm not sure that it's big enough really. When I get into mead and get a barleywine in there too, I won't have much room for quick brews, plus I want to start doing ten gallon batches.

Cool, I used to work at AHS in the early '90s. When you go with all-grain, you can make those really nice delicate light colored beers like real pilsener (not that watered down 'merkin coorsmillerweiser crap).

Tens are the only way to go. It takes the same amount of time as a fiver. Someday I'll get back into it myself (I still have all of my equipment). It's just so easy to cruise down to the Central Market and grab a sixer of something good these days. Back when I started brewing, you were lucky if you could find any good beer in good condition in Austin.
