Nite-ride on town lake + urban

I haven't been posting these because, well, it's town lake. Until I get the 2nd pin out it's all I can do for now.

If anyone wishes to join in meet at Stevie Ray tonight at 7:30 PM. (Behind Auditorium Shores on the HBT). Will prolly do at least 20 miles and then imbibe a beverage of choice.

    Blah!

D'oh! I'd've ridden with you, but tonight is a brew night. Got an oatmeal stout and an American pale ale to get fermenting...

20 miles is alot for an urban ride. You got to stop and session some things ya know.
Bliss, bliss and heaven... it was gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh...Oh, it was wonder of wonders... And then, a bird of like rarest spun heavenmetal, or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now...

20 miles is long for an urban ride? How far do you Mt. Bike on average?

Hell yes. JRA and BJones tell me that its like the Austin ride only there's thousands of cyclists.

When is the Houston Moonlight Ramble? The weekend after?

About one month after. It's also full moon ride so it's next lunar cycle.

I biked the Houston Moonlight Bicycle Ramble every year from when I was 5 until about 14 years old. My dad was on the commitee every year to make it happen - He was very active in the cycling community in Houston. I've still got the t-shirts, somewhere... but I doubt they fit.

What part (parts) of Houston does this go thru? I might be interested.

Last time I did it it went through downtown and south and west of Downtown.

From what I remember, it started SW of downtown, up Montrose, into and around Downtown, then out Allen PArkway to the west, and back around to the south. There were several "loops" of differing distance, like a 5 mile, a 12 mile and a 25 mile or something. I don't remember the distances.

This year it's starts on October 12th at 2AM.

I can't get the link to work right now:
