    Another 1 Up Rack Question

2" receivers on all of our vehicles... but in looking at the quick rack, it appears to be lighter and still capable of 3 bikes (with add ons) and capable of holding a solid amount of weight. I saw somebody mention that the 2" has less wobble than the 1.25-2" shim version.

Same with the add ons... any reason to go with the super duty?

yes inbred, this means your thule from pre 2010 is getting replaced

    I would consider this instead

I'm a long time owner of a 1up w a 2" and yes it's more stable but if I was in the market for a new rack I would wait for the Saris version. To me it looks a lot cleaner, has better features and you might be able to get a discount.

if you plan on even semi regularly carrying more than 2 bikes, get the heavy duty for sure. I had the 1 1/4" one up rack and with 3 bikes if flexed like crazy and was scary to watch. going down the highway and hitting humps/dips in the road would make the rack flex about 6-8" vertically. it was crazy.. then at one point for a shuttle run at cat mtn, I very briefly put 4 bikes on it (its only rated for up to 3) and the entire rack snapped off with $20k worth of bikes on it and skid down the street like a sled. thank god it didn't tip over and all the bikes were completely unharmed.

I've had the 2" SD dual for over two years (w/two add-on trays that I haven't had the opportunity to use more than a couple of times since my kids turned lame and bailed on riding with me...) It's been bulletproof and works great with mild off-roading and camping trips.

I added a Kuat swing-arm adapter for better daily convenience (namely easier access to the beer fridge in the hatch.)

Lot of plastic on that Saris rack. I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic rack, however, I am skeptical it will take the abuse from the elements that the 1up does.

perfect thanks! Have the 2" SD on the way and currently evaluating swing arms. the kuat looks like it's capable enough for bikes and more. thanks!

Got it today, and it is the best made rack on the planet. I have owned many from all the major makers. This thing destroys them all.
