Srsly though, I sold my ar a couple of years back and I miss range time and exploding things with tannerite. I'm thinking about a 308 or something for accurate distance target shooting. Any suggestions? (id pig hunt but I don't think we have the same problem up here that y'all do but the land is exactly the same so it probably wont be long.)
Coker swears by the 6.5 Grendel..ballistics are similar to a .270..The beauty of the 6.5, 6.8 or 300 black out is that you can use the ar-15 lower & mags then just swap out the upper or barrels..I used my 5.56 to absolutely wear out the pigs all day on Sat..they never knew what hit them..stalked & shot about 25 or more.....prob hiked & stalked 5 miles through the flood ravaged hills & draws..it looked like someone power washed everything..6Ē dia fence posts were snapped..unbelievable day..snuck up on huge axis bucks..white tail bucks too..a hunt of a life time

I had to be careful w my verbiage when I was talking to a few ladies that Iím courting not to use the word ďstalkingĒ, itís kind of a ďtriggerĒ for some of them..😆😆

I just picked up an M1A in .308 with a stainless steel national match barrel. Beautiful gun - deadly accurate with just metal peep sights at 100 yards.

You couldn't shoot the Axis? Those are my favorite.

Dang pigs were everywhere last weekend. They just wouldn't stay out of our feeders. Oh well, more pork in the freezer.

I'm a big fan of the 6.8. That's what I carry a lot of the time when I'm out walking, outside of deer season. But, like the 100 blackout, it is not known for it's long distance prowess. A 6.5 or .308 would be much better if one wants to play the long distance game.

So true. We've been thinning out the aoudad on our place some. Those things will mob a feeder like nothing else. At least axis taste good. Aoudad, not so much.

Havent eatin wild hog in yrs. Wonder if they're even edible. Be kinda fun to take one at night with a bow, then the stinky hog gutting would be a challenge

Where along the bike path did you see them? I was out walking yesterday on the section between the park and Mopac and saw a lot of deer, but not the big buck we saw last week. I'm gonna start walking with my camera and see if I can shoot him with that.

They are good depending on the size & if they are boar..I hate cleaning them after getting infested by fleas several years ago from one of them..we checkíem by cutting a piece then ďcookingĒ it w a lighter to see if it stinks and the taste..after smoking them the wknd before I disnt pull the trigger once over last wknd..feast or famine..kind of like women for me

Far west on the south side..I finally got my shock back from Fox after having to buy another fork so I rode the grnblt yesterday in all of the nastiness..jonsing for a ride badly..stopped & looked at the new tracks..big big buck in soft mud that spread his toes to make it look like a pig track..Didnít see him though..
