Agreed. I emailed Cap Metro (per their contact info on this several times and never heard back.

Search the main list for "bike" or "bicycle". There's 5 or 6 items.

"Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride." - JFK

spoken like someone who is employed...when you're unemployed, the distinction is not so critical.

work has a beginning and an end just like all these stimulus package jobs therefore they are not creating any JOB or CAREERS like your normal 9 to 5 job that you go to day after day year after year.

what is gonna happen to those created "jobs" after that bridge is built or that bike path is completed?

the guys that are going to do these projects already have the construction worker employees they are not gonna go out and new hire 12 new folks just to win a contract to put in a new sidewalk or refurbish a sewage treatment plant.

you folks that are so naive to actually think this pork bill full of earmarks is going to create JOBS and CAREERS are going to get a rude awakening that the rest of us already had back in November.

Funny but i don't see any of this stimulus money going to build the wall along the mexican border now that is a shovel ready project.

I don't believe there are too many "careers" in the US anymore (at least the kind Jello Titty is talking about). A career these days is pretty much "jobs" just strung together. I've had a solid career for the last 10 years, but the first job I got laid off from, and the last two I created myself. I won't fire me, but then my benefits suck too.

If at the end of the day, we get bicycle infrastructure improvements and a small percentage of ppl work instead of sitting on their ass getting unemployment (they're getting paid either way, but long term Moral and psychological effect improves if you're working instead of wasting).. and Rush eats O'Reilly's poo and dies (or vice versa).. then we're better off!

    Thumbs up

There are some pretty critical infatstructure still to this day that was build by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps.) back during the Great Depression years. The "work" that they did serves us proudly to this day. Those folks worked for the betterment of the United States and eventually moved on.

    So, construction worker/steel worker/concrete paver/concrete truck driver/steel manufacturer/concrete manufacturer/construction planner/project management/construction engineer/architect/designer/landscaper/etc/etc/etc aren't career paths, eh?

Bigger picture. Look at the bigger picture.

Standard Democratic politics 101: play to the bottom half of the wage earners (that provide only 4% of revenues), get enough centrist chuckleheads to buy into the Jedi mind tricks to get elected, and then proceed to commit massive sustained buggery on the actual producers of the wealth. Barry's plan to soak the "rich" (i.e. the segment which produces the vast majority of tax revenue) and businesses.

Love the fact that H.K. continues to rail against any solution proffered by the Democrats yet offers no solution of its own.

It is always easier to fix the blame than the problem. Perhaps H.K. should be fixed or since the US so obviously sucks with a bunch of chuckleheads in the populace, some other country where there is a better form of government, with all of the requisite issues and solutions, would be a better place to put H.K. out to pasture.
