Austin is unconfirmed. We were told that by an insider, but the promoter isn't letting out any details.

That must have seen my bike and realized that they need to bring the show here because this is where Greatness dwells.

That was exactly right. People were flocking to your bike.

Actually, the 2-3 times I was in the booth people were asking about your handlebar bag. The grey MTB was eyed over the most, I think.

According to people in the know, Austin is on the short list of three cities. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, that bike has a sweet paint job...the grey one. I thought that was your bike?

Yeah, Jeff's stuff at Carousel Design Works (bag maker) is awesome. Well thought out, well made.

So what were your thoughts? Do you agree on all the awards given to the builders or did you like some others that weren't given an award? I really hope it comes to Austin. I bet it would get some big crowds.

That's somebody else's bike, but based on my paint (sans shamrock pattern background). It's also a little darker grey.

I liked the bike the NAHBS judges picked for overall - it's a cool design and very well made. The people's choice MTB seemed too much like art to be ridden. Wooden wheels? No thanks. And the off-road section needs to be split to CX and another for MTB. They gave it to a cross bike - albeit a nice one - but there were plenty of MTBs that were really cool.

I'm updating the Olive blog tomorrow with our choices.

Your bag is really cool, and more than once Clark was explaining how it works. I think people like to see a bike like yours being used like it was/is/will be.

Yes Dave was really taken with your color combo. In fact it *was* suppose to be the same color gray however the PCer made a mistake and used a darker color. Honestly I think it worked out for the best, Dave does too.

That was the idea, I hoped it translated properly at the show. Unfortunately we had two of our "planned" NAHBS bikes push back WRT the show deadline. We were scrambling a little bit in the 11th hour because we didn't really have an "anchor" bike for the show. Thats when we decided to use Travis' bike as an example of what happens to our bikes: they are owned and ridden by ppl that hammer them! Travis' was our first paragon SS and in fact there are a few things with his bike we'd do differently...i.e its not really a show bike. Heck its got a prototype fork that is rattle-can painted! But its an honest and real example of "our bikes".

Thanks again Sherpa for the use of your steed. I've not heard back from Clark but I think he will be arriving in Austin today.

    Later,
    CJB
