Enjoyed 2 days at Womble- 16-17 Dec
I think its epic cause of the acreage it covers. Mostly straight line ridge trail, best spots were at creek crossings and trail apexes.
Leaves were gone from the trees and were covering and camouflaging rocks and roots.
Riding solo w/o shuttle means doubling back. Next time group with shuttle to cover more ground.
Rode the south part back to mile 21.
Friday morning pedaling at 730. COLD 29 degrees .
Ice in mouthpiece of camelback, wheels, F der and beard.
Toes were the hardest to keep warm, even with wool socks. Water proof shoes next time
Did not see another bike either day, lots of black small dog like scat on trail.
Only one slow speed endo at a foot bridge.
I'm glad I didnt make this trip solely to ride, Petit Jean State Park was our destination-- great spot in it self.

Thanks for your trip report. What was your driving time up there from Austin?

What was your mileage each day? Are you saying you did 42 mi on your main day? Wasn't clear on your mile marker reference.

We headed home from Oden, AR---8 hrs to Alvin

Trail "begins" on north side, Story, AR (and Round Top Loop) I rode about 16 miles each day.

1st day parked on CR92 and trail crossing (approx mile mark 32.5)
Rode to trail south end( North Fork Lake) and back again
Then north to mile mark 29

2nd day parked at trail lot on SH 298 just north of 270 (Rocky Shoals) mile mark 24
Rode south to mile mark 29 and back
then north to mile mark 21 and back

google maps has Austin->>Oden at 472 miles and 8hrs 40min
