I'm finding myself in that mindset more and more as I get older. The few times I've gone over the "big" drop on PicnicX, I think to myself, "why do I do that? the landing is off-camber toward a tree, and will eventually bite me". I mean honestly, the reward does not really outweigh the risk. I skip it more often for what I call the "butter drop" on the right, it's more fun with the pumpable goodness that follows anyway. I still take some risks, but I can see a time where that ends.

Also 183A parking under toll road.
About the rock. A permanent installation would be nice. The rock may not have been needed in the beginning but with all the use and erosion I would guess the step up to get onto the rock has gotten taller over the years. With the new geo on bikes being longer and lower it's tough not to bash your bottom bracket trying to clear that feature. At least for me. Once again thanks for an awesome trail!

Holy cow there were a lot of people on D this morning... Maybe it was just more noticeable because I was going W-E for a change, but I passed 7 or 8 people going the opposite direction, 2 were runners/hikers.

Closest gauges show 0.11in, down to 0.06in. Curious if based on its state yesterday if it would be rideable today. I bet it is but I'll let the experts chime in.

I'm 2 miles north. It's currently misting here. Gotta think the rocks are gonna be treacherous.

Yeah, I just stuck my toe outside and the lawn/patio are wet. I would think the slick stuff would be, well, like...slick...

I guess it's bike maintenance morning

It was pretty perfect today. The dirt had "Hero" in its name.

^What he said. Pretty much perfect today. The north wind dried out the rocks. The temp was excellent. Tires were clean after ride.

They were at the skate park 10-4 yesterday but that's the only date I saw for austin on their website.

Hope y'all soaked in this effing WEATHER somewhere today. These perfect riding days are numbered if not over. Then we head to the SOUL SUCKING humid morning or HOT evening summer rides. Woooo...excited, except not really.

I took it on for sure. Busted my ass going up the ledge on mulligan though. Is there a strategy for that portion or do I just suck?

Casey and I went and popped my BCGB cherry on some properly chunky shit.. of course he saved the gnarliest section of the day for the very end when my legs were gone.. beesterd. But the weather was amazing.

Yup, one of those days where the bike refuses to be loaded back on the truck
