Oh and with respect to riding brushy at night...I have ridden a LOT at night out there. I've seen bats, bobcat, coyote, skunk, owls, rabbits, deer, snakes, etc etc but never any riff raff humans. It's great fun to ride there at night. A big reason it's so fun is because it's so deserted. Wilco doesn't tolerate shady people. At all.
Uh they let us out there!

According to the radar, Deception got less, if any (right on the edge). Haven't ridden in a couple of weeks, so I intend to find out.
My rain gauge near Deception is showing hardly anything, just a few drops worth.

Any stories of riders being charged by pigs? (not the ones walking the BCRT path), I mean the 4 legged ones.
pigs are not dangerous they will run.

I use either the Kangaroo Cary Air Marshal 3 or I have necklace holster that works well with a small 380. Both work well, they conceal the weapon but you can access quickly.

Any generic IWB holster should work as long as it has a belt clip instead of loops. You can clip it to any pair of shorts at your 4 o'clock, and let your loose shirt ride over it. Of course - make sure you're carrying your LTC with you somewhere.

Not true. I've seen them charge a few friends.

Yeah, this is true. Most of the time, they will run. But like any other large critter when cornered or defending young, territory or prey they can charge/ act aggressively. You dont want to be on the receiving end of a boar! The results are usually "no bueno".
Those tusks can really do some damage.

Carcass Cafe has had a partial direction change and name change. East of Parmer Lane is now a clockwise flow. West of Parmer stays the same. The new name will be Peddlers Pass (this is the original name). The Starva segment is BCB-Peddlers Pass. Please spread the word.

The direction change is the first step in expanding the trail. The name change is to pay homage to the trails beginning .

Is this direction change suggested or mandatory?

Strongly suggested. You can ride it both directions, but since it is used by a wider range of people vs some of the other Brushy trails (beginners, kids, family's, experienced riders etc.) it would be best if everyone goes in the same direction (most of the time).

Trying to get in my head how the direction change works. Start over near the park with kayaking? Where it used to start? Take a left on the trail instead of groing straight/right?

I am a visual learner and sometimes need help with words.

This was all out of safety concerns for the cats, right?
