Y'all enjoy the weather - you'll know I got my bike back when the random thunderstorm hits the area.
Just a quick update, it appears the weather will remain perfect until at least Tuesday afternoon.

So trails were pretty damn good today. Weather was nice and cool! Many many runs down snail to play on new toy.

I just got back and checked out that new jump as well, although you may be referring to a different new toy. Rode up on that thing once and had to kind of look it over. Then it was ready, set, blast off!

Had to get back and do more snail today. Love the new edition at the top; it makes that line so much more fun. All in all a good ride with the exception of painful crash on mulligan. Nothing serious, just some serious bruising It was a good reminder that the littlest shit can bite you.

No joke! I rode yesterday and crashed doing a little hot dig move like I always do at that spot. Full on OTB fuck n roll. Thank god for my training it keeps me walking away from these. LONG LIVE THE AIRBORNE

No shit. I was a corpsman with a Marine expeditionary unit for about two years and we all went through multiple rounds of jump training. Not like you guys, but enough to imprint muscle memory. It has saved my ass on multiple instances.

Must have been something in the air this weekend. I was actually riding in Huntsville at Sam Houston State Park and was putting the hammer down on some high-speed turns and bump jumps. Ended up face planting a tree and think I broke my nose along with the obvious lacerations. The good news is that I think it might have actually fixed my deviated septum - finally able to breathe through my left nostril.

OK I don't want to derail this thread into a crashing / injury thread, but it does seem to be the place where most of that crap gets posted anyway. Ended up going to Urgent Care and confirmed that nose is broken in a few places, which actually cleared some space for air to pass through my previously deviated septum. Bad news is that as the bones heal, the passageways will be blocked again, probably even worse. Got referred to ENT. Oh and as for the lacerations, doc wouldn't touch them. I failed to mention earlier that when I came off the trail bleeding profusely, a proclaimed doctor offered to take care of me. First thing he did was get his scissors out to snip away the hanging flesh that he said could never be stitched back together. Said I'd have a scar and used surgical glue to stop the bleeding and bind the tape he put over the laceration. His beer-drinking friends were joking that he was actually a doctor of veterinary medicine, which I now believe may have actually been the case. So I guess in a couple of weeks when the glue and tape come off I'll see what my new look is, but it's possible that the ENT will give me an entire makeover anyway. The really sad part is that I'm back home in Cedar Park with blue skies and pleasant temps abounding under DST. Instead of hitting the trails I'm sitting here nursing my headache with IPA. SUCKS!

Hey, don't blame it on being a Vet, I had one stitch up my arm once, and he even gave me a scooby snack after the procedure.

Sorry to hear about the money maker though

Sorry to hear that. That sucks dude. Hope that you heal quickly. I had my nose broken in seven places. I have a pretty gruesome story to go with it. That’s for another time though. Feel better man.

I'd trust a vet with my face lacerations. They do stitch up all those floppy, empty dog nutsacks.

Humid but great weather at Brushy today. Lots of traffic on the trails.

If someone lost a watch on 1/4 Notch please PM me.

Trails are wet and rock features are slick. I had a lot of caking going on with my tires just riding too the entrance of Deception.

Shout out to the group of ambitious mtn bikers that were out here trying to ride. Hope they’re smart enough to not hit the trails, they already had mud on their tires and they hadn’t even gotten on anything yet.
