I rode the gravel path this morning and even exposed sections were still a bit mushy. I usually gauge the trail by the waterfall next to the hike and bike between 183A and the rim entrance, and it was flowing heavy this morning. My yard is just starting to get dry in the bare areas. I'm hoping Friday will be good.

Rode late morning. Peddler pass is drying up fast, some soft spots. Deception is in great shape, except 2 downed trees at the switchback sections at doubledown, and 1 downed tree at picnic extension is a decapitator.

Thanks for the update. I've been swapped in the office so haven't had a chance to get out and check the trails. I'll update the Twitter feed based on your assessment.

I'll be out there at around 4:30PM today and will update the feed accordingly.

Headed out there in a few hours and Iíll definitely have enough daylight to take care of the one on picnic. Iíll try to get to the ones on deception but once the lights come on I donít get the saw out anymore ( healthy fear of snakes)!

Are snakes attracted to the saw (chainsaw?) at night?

Partially cleared the large one in the middle picture. You can get by It now.

Need a little bit more than a hand chainsaw.

I didn't realize 2 trees were blocking Blocking Double Down. I Only cleared one on Double Down and the one on Picnic....I respectfully remove my nomination for Supreme Trail Builder. If someone gets to it before a builder, try using a branch as a lever to roll it off the trail. That's how I got one of the logs off the trail since it would have taken my dull chain forever to cut through it (chainsaw placed for scale).Name: tree down.jpg

The one we cleared we used a hand chain saw and removed most of branches and hauled into the woods. the main trunk was 1/2 rotten, and we were able to get it 3/4 off the trail enough to let riders pass before it was covered in ants!

It is just west/outbound of the rock-garden section I think you call the "cradle"? Where you have to ride on top of large rocks for about 20 ft. On a steep left turn down (picture # 2 from above). You can see the main trail from the downed tree/turn area.
