Thanks AC for sharing the facts, I've given up on trying to share them as people are hell bent on their own vitriol and bringing their own issues into the post. Those of us involved have a long history at the ranch and we aren't new at all to the venue or the course, but again the story is better when it's painting with a broad brush, instead of sticking to the truth.
Thanks again to all of you that came out and rode, to those that gave their time, and to those that understand we don't own a time machine, but if we did then we'd use it. That being said we'd make you bring your bike with Rock Shox Quadra from '97 if we did.
Screw the good old days.
The only time to live is now.
If you don't like it, you've got a problem.
Take advantage of the present
It's all you've got.
Ride it.

"That said, I think you're a total Fnut ranting troll, Bartman. I really appreciate the time and money spent by everyone from Mellow Johnny's to the individual volunteers. Wookie and Tobin did a great job heading up the work out there. Flat Creek is a great place to ride and I appreciate ANY opportunity to ride new trail."
Amen and thanks again MJ's and Leif and Tobin and all the other volunteers. No way did they deserve to be so rudely treated. I did not deserve to have to read all that stupid criticism. Shame on you bartman. I had no idea you were such a jerk.
What a way to start the day.

Bart, get all your facts straight before you start bitchin'. I rode that trail (or what was left of it) on New Years before any work had been done on it for this race and a lot of the trails we used to love were gone, sections cut off so you couldn't get to some of what we loved, etc. We haven't had our hands on that trails in years and numerous events have used the land. We have no say in how the owners use (or don't use) their land (unfortunately).
Wookie has been working with the land owners to try to get us more access, but we'll see where that goes. So, you should be thanking the peeps out there working on the trails, not butchering them.
What has been done out there for this race has made the trails rideable again, as opposed to bush-wackable. Pucker up buttercup and welcome to reality!
I don't have cojones, I have breasticles.![]()
If it has tires or testicles it's gonna give you trouble. Good thing I like trouble!
It's not what you owe - it's what your vagina owes!
I didnt hijack anyone's thread, this is my honest opinion in a thread that I started. if you dont like it then stay fck out of it. once again, IMHO they painted a mustache on someone else's masterpiece and then they are standing around with their crayons patting each other on the back. I would advise anyone who loved it like was to stay away because you'll be pissed just like I was when I road it. Btw, Those trees at the top were just cut down so one of you clowns did that whether you want to admit it or not.
Ok....it isn't what you expected or recalled. Your jaw dropped and you thought wtf ?!
The owner of the property hired someone to do a job that had to meet certain requirements, which he did. Because he is trustworthy.
The overall result of this endeavor further promotes mountain biking.
The guy that was hired is trusted by landowners and has opened up land to mountain bikers that was previously anavailable. Again further promoting mountain biking.
Promoting mountain biking and developing trust with land managers will we be the only way we will be granted additional opportunities for trail development. All types of trails. On all types of terrain.
In this endeavor, an individual can choose to help, or to side on the side and not help.
Those that help are part of the solution, those that sit on the side and are of no help, are part of the problem.
This choice we get to make.
Staying pissed is a choice as well, but unless it comes with pro active involvement,... what good is it?
I'll concede these points, its their property to with it what they wish.
you dont know me but I've done more work then anyone knows on this board and that is why I found the desecration of that trail so disturbing. it doesnt help that all of the race courses have been dumbed down for the roadies and people w/o skills.
Take your skills to the race and show all those without skills how it's done.
Never mind, you're too good for that trail.

I cant compete with the roadies on a roady course plus I'm not into comparing penis' with other men, I'll leave that for you and your meat wagon buddies..However, I have waited for several of the racer boys on some real mountain bike trails so they wouldnt get lost. I'm sorry for taking so much of your time because I know you have more important things to do...like shaving your manjeyena for race day.
Not a racer, fartmouth, not enough skill, like you.

Deadfall, wind damage, and lightning struck trees were cleared in spots. I can think of ONE area that was deemed by a Pro racer as "too tight at speed" between some oaks, so I covered the old S-turn with cedar branches and made a much straighter reroute. I appreciate your love for the old trail and old days. It wasn't like I remembered it either. The muddy buddy roads were a real pain to work with/around. The 2 utility easements on the ranch also consumed chunks of trail.
