I've got a bunch of stuff that could work. And I'm thinking the seatpost would a a 27.2.

Second try on this ridiculous project:

Looking for parts to convert an old hybrid into a drop bar adventure bike. Needs:

Drop bars, 25.4 or 26mm clamp preferably.
    Hybrid tires
    Aero levers for those bars
    Road cranks and BB

I will scrounge Yellow Bike when I get a chance because all the old parts that I once had to make this come together went there. In the meanwhile, I just want to get this thing rolling.

    Non-bike stuff:

    1. Two D-Link DIR-655 wireless N routers
    2. TP Link AV500 nano powerline adapter
    3. Sabratek external USB HD dock (2.5" or 3.5" HDs, up to 4TB)
    5. Two different remote control IR extenders
    6. iPad Air leather cover (not an Air 2, only fits the Air)

Hey does anybody have an extra set of hydraulic brakes lying around? I've bled my brakes 4 times at this point and I don't think they are going to improve. I've also got a front Deore shifter and a front xt derailleur with some xt chainrings if y'all want to trade. Thanks!

I don't have a set, but which brakes are they? There are some tricks, depending on brand.

Just wondering why so many APs? Not being condescending but is your home that big or do you have a lot of channel interference?

Looking for an old school 30.2 or 30.4 seatpost... I had one that came with the frame I'm bringing back to life, but it looks like it might have accidentally ended up in the box I took to Yellow Bike a while back...

Also, could use a 25.4 flat bar wider than 580, if anyone has such a unicorn...

Don't really care about the cosmetic condition of either.

They are white deore hydraulics from 2011. I've just beat them to hell and they are falling apart...

I was a technology analyst for a few years. I had to stay on top of products and understand the technologies/implementation issues. House is only 2800 sqft, could cover it with only 2 but I am anal-retentive about signal/coverage so four does a much better job.

So how much beer would it cost me to have you bring over and setup a couple at my house?

Matt, if John takes you up on this, I have an enterprise level AeroHive wifi (router) unit that I would donate to your cause. I won it in a raffle at Apple a good while back and its been sitting in a box ever since. Retailed for $700.

We should probably take this to a different thread. There is a good reason that putting an aero hive into a home environment is not good for the typical user, mostly because you are greatly amping up the management requirements. The odds of ending up doing something wrong and creating more issues for themselves. With as much as I generally don't like consumer stuff, it does play an important role - removing a lot of the complexity.

Consumer products are full suspension 12-speeds: simplified and easy to use in any situation. Commercial products are hardtail singlespeeds: you can get more out of them but it requires you to know a lot more about riding and you have to pick your lines much more carefully, you just can't barrel through everything without thinking about it.

I just gave away all of my remaining unused stuff, but if people have questions or concerns about networking, want help setting stuff up or placement, PM me, I'm happy to help where I can.

Before I head to the bike shop, does anyone have a 29er front wheel, disc brake with a quick release, not pass through axle?

taco’d mine a bit over New Years.

    Thanks.
