Crank and Drank ride tonight if no more rain?
I saw lots of Strava activity from last night. Some of those riders need to weigh in with an opinion. I was just out doing some work and got rained on. Not even a 1/10th of an inch in my home rain gauge though. I'm thinking sticky but doable. But I didn't ride last night.

It's coming down pretty good at my house right now. I live next to the library. Gotten reports of rain in Circle C Metro too.
It was iffy before but now it's a definite no go for tonight.
Maybe a reschedule for Thursday? Hopefully.
Yeah, pouring about 5 miles west at work right now.
ARR has made arrangements with the manager of Whirlpool Cave to have a exclusive tour of the cave for ARR members. The number of participants would be limited. We were thinking of having a combo ride/cave tour.
Who would be interested and what day/time would work best for you?
Very cool. We should organize a trail ride for some spelunkers.
So a few days ago I was driving north on West Gate Blvd., and just after passing Stassney I saw a person on a bike come out of the brush on the east side of Westgate, just after a little bridge. If you look closely at the photo you can see what looks like a trailhead right around where there's a red car heading north (heading to top of photo). At a glance the trail I saw looked well used so I was wondering if anyone has more info on it. I guess it leads into a little part of a preserve that borders Williamson Creek.
Here's a wider view... It's the green area to the top right of photo...
On another note... I met someone that's fairly new to Austin today. He and his wife ride the veloway. I got to talking with him about the mtb trails down south (where he lives) and found out that he had ridden some Ocala (FL) trails a year ago with his brother and really enjoyed it. So I told him I'd be happy to take him out and show him the trails. He has road bikes, but nothing for trail. I told him that he could rent from BSS as it's the only place I know that rents mtbs, but I was wondering if anyone may have an extra ride that they could give him an hour or so on, and maybe come riding with us. It would have to be an xlg though, as he's around 6'2". Just a thought.
My 6'2" son moved to college, leaving his XL Santa Cruz Tall Boy in my garage. When asked why he left it he said something to the effect of: "Rugby, weights, girls." Your friend is welcome to borrow it. PM for pick up times or meet me at ATX this Sat at 08:30 for when I ride. Let me know and I'll bring it.
Wow... He'll get to ride a Tall Boy while I'm stuck with my trainer bra... But seriously... That's awesome cramsay... I'll let him know.
I just spoke with him today and I didn't really think I'd find a loaner so fast. But I'll give him a heads up and see if he's up to a ride on Sat morning.
And if his wife is interested I have a smaller bike she can ride.
Appreciate it.
When Williamson Creek leaves Sunset Valley, all the property lines touch in the middle of the creek. That means no access for us.
It would be so great if the creek bed was city property as it flowed towards I-35. But it's not until it's east of Manchaca Rd. Then it's private property again until it's east of Congress.
I have looked at it long and carefully trying to make a huge loop of it to Onion Creek/McKinney Falls/Mary Moore but all that damn private property puts a kibosh on that plan.
This was an interesting read for me:
