VCT is going to build a bridge right over Boulder Crossing. Enjoy it while you can. We might need to cut an alternate "tech" route to cross the creek.

The one with all the boulders. There are three crossings over Slaughter Creek in that area known as Bowie sildwalk, gravel, and boulder. If you have ridden these, the names are accurate.

The address where he was "extracted" is the Veloway parking lot.

Yeah, makes sense now. Hate to see that get "improved/ruined".

I've read that coral snakes have very short fangs that do not hold much venom. I'm interested in how this happened. There's a video on Youtube taken by a BCGB rider that shows a coral snake up in a tree at head level, which it seems was unusual.

Lots of tree trimming possibilities in there. Maybe they are sagging because of the rain, but it would have been a slow ride: riding, ducking, and dodging going on in there.
Just rode this. It's all good. Thanks to whoever cleaned it up.

I hear the inner Canterbury loop is closed off, anyone have insight as to why?

What did you hear? I just went and rode both Canterbury loops to check this out. It's all good to go. There were a couple of sticks on the Inner Loop, but they might have been just naturally occurring. It sure is a fun little ride. I cannot imagine the Inner Loop being closed off by anyone as it is mostly on old, signed, designated trail.

I rode under the railroad pass too, just to see if it was all good. The graffiti on the trestles there is amazing. That should be a destination for people to see.

I heard there were deliberate looking obstacles on the trail that were staggered. I'll go check it out to see first hand as well. thanks for the feedback.

Crank and Drank starts at 6 pm year 'round. It's going to be great tonight. We are going to see a brand new trail that makes a needed connection. Fun too. All the trails are in great shape too.
    Charge those lights up!

Like I said, there were a few sticks that looked like they might have been placed. My only theory is that someone that was use to walking the trail in a particular way might be trying to direct people the old way? That's all I got, and that's pretty weak.

Perhaps the perpetrators of the rock placing on Bambi are starting a cult of anti-mtbing

Sweet. It's been a while since I've been on a night ride or a C&D. Looking forward to new trail and the cold front blowing through.

Stephenson to ever wet is impassable as of today. Rode through last night and the machine was running. Rode again today and it was across the trail.

the area in question is not in Stephenson Preseve. it's in the vicinity, but it's well outside the boundary. The purpose of the construction there has been discussed but I can't remember what it was. the trail through there is not sanctioned, so anyone riding through there is a guess at best and we can be un-invited.

They're building a school I think. I assume that they are trenching to put a drain down to the creek. They have gotten an easement granted on the city land that this particular trail is on. That part is not in Stephenson. But that line they are putting in is right on the Stephenson border. I commented before that I am surprised that they were able to construct something so close to a "sensitive" area.

It's interesting that two parts of the Valero loop are blocked by trenching right now. But I believe the only long term impact to the entire Valero loop will be when that property behind Valero sells and is developed. But that will not be too much to lose.
