But it was a rigid Trek. Many moons ago, eh?

Yup, the SATN is getting to be pretty spectacular. We are extremely lucky to have this resource out our backdoor

Glad you went there instead of someone else dragging that skeleton out of the closet.

We endured those beatings for so long that I feel its my duty to make sure they never die. After all, the running gag is pretty damn funny now IMHO.

Part of me thinks the orange shart persecution is why sherpaxc moved away. (not really, but really)

The issue is, The segments are:
    Repetitive
    Overlapping sometimes 3-5 fold
Use stupid linking of multiple trails that only the creator regularly rides and wants a top 10. then when someone who is fast is just riding blows it the fuck up.
Too short at times, especially if it inside of a log standing segment. (oh you aren't fast enough to be fast enough for 3 minutes to get a top 10? Lets make a shorter segment so you can try to put out a 40 second effort)
Dangerous in that they encourage people to run lights and blow across strangers or trespass on blocked trails
Lame names would be the biggest understatement and least important.

I'm going to be an even bigger asshole for a moment and say this. Fast is fast, sure segment hunting is fun. So you can get on the leaderboard for a few short segments. That thrill is short lived when you realize someone fast did that as their average pace on a 40 mile ride. Be nice to everyone, stop your bike, pull over and out of the way for people and loose dogs, live to strava another day. And stop making BS segments that clutter everything.

If you do make a segment, be nice enough to add a runnout on both ends so it doesnt encourage people to take stupid risks in order to cross the "finish line". We dont need any more segments sending folks barreling out of the trail into pedestrians giving us a black eye.

If you dont use strava, there is no need for you to respond. We already know how you feel.

Nah, sherpaxc had always been a reclusive anti-social hermit long before the orange paint party followed us around.

Is C&D on for tonight? Is the route going Far south again?

I may try my luck at hightailing it down to ATX now that the new path is open up. I think I can make it.

Wow finally got to ride SATN this am with a Slaughter Creek lap thrown in. Kickass trails. I didn’t realise Violet Crown was paving a path through some of it. Think I ended up with 40 mile loop. Fun

Ha! "with a Slaughter Creek lap thrown in" is funny to say but it is very descriptive. I say that because it use to mostly be just a destination. Now it's something to do on the way to all the new stuff further south. Using 1826 really does make some great loops now.

I always find it funny to see unpacking bikes in the SCNP parking lot. I have to wonder, you DROVE all the way over here just to do a lap around this trail? Maybe it's better that they don't know it's the tip if this hot, dry iceberg.

I know people out of town that start there then ride the SATN.

You should offer to take them on additional route. Also, there are people that are TERRIBLE with directions and finding where to go and others who only ride 6 miles due to fitness. These are all description of my friends and Family.

yeah good thing I had a great guide as I would've been so lost with all the different connecting trails, especially that one behind the Velero gas station at Slaughter.

The trail behind Valero is on William Cannon. No wonder you were confused.

I'll gladly give anyone a tour any time they ask.

    Slaughter or WC?

Valero Trail is behind valero on WC and BC

Edit: Mack beat me to it. I love that trail though.
