Radar looks like whatever there was has passed and nothing more coming.
I'm in.
Small but dedicated group today, thanks for coming out.
Wasn't even that cold . . . turned out to be a nice day out on the bike.
Good news. Nabbed a 1/4 barrel for post-ride festivities.
Also, we'll be doing the final group rides this Sat and Sun. 9AM, Dick Nichols lot.
Most of the ride will be flagged (with environmentally sensitive, gluten free, free-trade flags). Don't want to hear any whining about getting lost
Finally, we have no idea how many people are going to show up for this thing. If you're coming, would be a big help if you could ping us with a +1, +2, etc on the thread so we have an idea.
Cheers!

- "Because trees don't travel 75 miles per hour."
- "Enjoying nature...at a higher rate of speed."
Finish and get a gold star . . .

Now that some of this has been rerouted, can someone give an update on the new estimated mileage?

There are two loops now, south and west. Both loops are just shy of 18 miles. 35 miles total. About 5 miles of that are wheels on street. 3 miles of Veloway. That means 27 miles of dirt.
Next time will have the north included. This shortened route will work well for the inaugural event.
That should be very singlespeedable, wish I had an 18t instead of my 20t

Update on ride calls for this weekend. As of now, forecast for Sat says low chance of light rain. If it rains, its a gametime decision. Will try to post up in the AM with a go/no-go.
If no rain overnight, ride is on. Will be cold, so: It's chilly.. what's everyone wearing (for riding)?
Same goes for Sunday. Keeping an eye on things and will try to keep everyone informed.
No rides for today (Sat).
Sunday is TBD.
Sunday is cancelled as well.
Keeping an eye on the weather for next weekend. . .
Weather is not looking good for this weekend; lots of rain expected during the week and not enough time to dry before the event.
Will make the official call by Wed afternoon, stay tuned.
UPDATE: the Big Southie mountain bike ride is not looking good, but the Big Southie cyclocross ride is still on. because cyclocross bikes on Austin mud is the funnest kind of riding ever. meet me at DNP on Saturday with your CX bikes and let's go tear up some live oak root systems!

won't you be my neighbor?
UPDATE 3/4!!!! Ride is CANCELLED for 3/7, too much rain. We are pushing to our rain date of 4/4. Please do not ride muddy trails.
If you forwarded this to any non-Mojos, please help spread the word.
I hope the date move didn't inconvenience anyone. But now I know how AISD and other school districts feel when having to make these kinds of decisions. You have to call it with the information you have at the time. Just because the days don't turn terrible is not the decision makers fault.
Today has turned into a good day but April 4th will be better!
