All crossings are bone dry from Zilker to 360. There are two large trees down between the first and second crossings (where you briefly cross over to avoid the no bikes/climbing area). Just the large (12"+) trunks cross the trail, one you can go over and one under but you need to dismount.

Also - found a nice tail light off the main trail Monday - pm with a detailed description and I will get it back to you.

Found the two large trees today. They should be cleared in a few days.

The trees were still there yesterday so I took out the one I couldn't duck under. The one that is on the ground I left hoping to make it a feature. After I tried to ride it, it will need some work. I couldn't get a good angle because of the stump of the tree I cut.It will become a feature in the next few days. There is a limit to how much I will use the hand chain saw in one day.

I've done a lot of clearing solo and with groups over the last few weeks but I'm very impressed with what a good job everyone has done in general with getting the eye-pokers and really severe stuff cleaned up.

How about that huge tree suspended above the trail just downstream from the rope-swing near MoPac? Holy crap! There are a few giant ones out there that will need to be dealt with at some point but it's going to take more than a handsaw.

If it's on the main (official) trail like next to the Mopac rope swing, then call it in to 311 and it will be logged (pardon the pun), assigned to Urban Forestry and tracked. If it's a public safety hazard, it should get priority treatment.

Up in Ohio, plenty of log overs were built into the trail and allowed to stay. Like 20.....but they don't gots no ledges.

I live off the land... There's squirrels and polecats and Bambi legs in my neighborhood!
