I am assuming to set the last beams.
I doubt the closure is to set those beams. On Sunday the south footing had not been poured. Assuming they poured it on Monday (not likely), that would give it less than a week to cure. They usually want close to 28 days for the green concrete to reach a reasonable strength before they load it. That is my observation anyway.

They definitely got something done last night... The work site was pretty quiet aside from one guy doing inspection/survey work so I went in close enough for a picture.
Last support beams are in place. Looks like they still have some decking to do, but it should be in one piece in a month or so.
Then they have to do lighting and trail work and blah blah blah...

I can't wait to ride on that thing, waving at the traffic jam as I go by...

Nice progress. But the EB is only ~3.5 weeks away. Let's hope that there is no torrential rain in the next couple weeks, that would be a great way to hit the south side of the creek without having to get wet.

Can't use it yet unless you have a ladder. They know us. The very last thing they do will be to close that last 15' gap either with a span (continuing what is coming from the north) or dirt filled walls (to continue what is coming from the south). The majority of the bridge is looking complete with railings and everything. Except for that little "prevent premature use" gap on the south end.

I saw progress on that last section connecting back to terra firma yesterday for the first time in a while. Hopefully it'll be usable in another month or two.

I checked it out last night. Its connected but they definitely don't want people down there. They've got all kinds of construction equipment blocking the path and gates at both ends. Plus there's nails all over the ground.

360 connector is complete except for the retaining fences.

I took this photo of the south entrance yesterday. I witnessed another mountain biker cross it heading northbound when I was there. I didn't hang out long, so I'm not sure if he was able to cross on the north side. Looks like all the foundation work is finished, and the switchbacks are mostly done. I'm hopeful they'll meet their December opening goal.

Wow! Huge progress since I looked at it last week. You don't even need a ladder now!

That thing will be worth using if for no other reason than the view from the BC canopy!
