Rode .6 on Friday afternoon, it was perfectly dry.

Be carful on Inner Log Loop, I don't know if it is because the leaves were wet, or if it is because the leaves are just loose on the trail, but they make the last couple of corners pretty slick.

TStarry and I did some dead fall clearing and drainage work on Windy Loop this morning. There are some new drains on the initial (ccw) stairs step section of the loop.

There is still mud on three sections of Windy Loop from persistent ground water. We are working on a plan to address these areas.

Yeah, I just got caught by the most recent shower. I was walking some of the trail to check on repairs. Sticky with lots of puddles.

Rode it last night w/ Sethpool. I see the green poop bags are blooming early this spring. This is getting criminal. Have the cops run a sting on that TStarry. Asking wouldn't hurt. It must be one or two mentally disturbed dog owners that have been doing it for years. Can't handle it anymore. Is it someone who thinks this is revenge for parking tickets or something? Game camera this APD. Or sharpie tag the bags and game camera the dispensers. Please ask the city to step up TStarry, for all that is still good in this world.

I guess citizens can lean on the city with 311 online complaints and there is a friends of walnut creek facebook page. We need to band together and catch these losers somehow.

I just got off the phone with Art. He told me APD would get right on this. Right after they get people to stop using cell phones while driving.

Wait. You were serious about game cameras? It is 1 April, after all.

I posted this about a year and a half ago and still think the State of Texas or maybe the Parks Department should take heed:

Admittedly silly idea that keeps repeating in my head:

    *** FANNY PACKS!!! ***

Start with an ad campaign similar to "Don't Mess with Texas", with the word "Mess" highlighted and instead (or in addition to) of bumperstickers & t-shirts we have special fanny packs with the phrase across them.

Fanny packs will need a special baggie dispenser and separate waterproof compartment to keep the baggies once filled with "Mess" - as well as another compartment for ID, keys, and the like.

Users can empty fanny packs at trash cans that have the "Don't Mess with Texas slogan on them just to hammer the point home.

Fanny packs can be cheaply made as long as they are strong enough that an average person accidentally sitting on one full of crap won't cause a blowout.

Also, fanny packs need to be available in feminine, masculine, and gender-neutral colors.

Hell, hopefully they get popular and the Austin arts community will start making them with pockets for patchouli and weed.

Plenty of PSAs will need to be made showing pedestrians, joggers, and cyclists using the baggies for their pet's poo and then placing them into the fanny packs until they reach trash receptacles - again, just to hammer the point home.

We could even GoPro all those ourselves to save costs on the campaign.

Proof of concept - get a regular fanny pack, a decent-sized ziplock baggie, a half-dozen poop baggies, and don't forget to write "Don't MESS with Texas" on the pack with a laundry marker.
BTW - *NOT* an April Fool's post...

Since the "Poop" issue got it's own thread - I'll try to bring this back on track

Rode Upper & Lower Log Loops and .6 today, hero dirt all-around.

Perfect weather for a ride, too.

Sorry for the derail. I just hate seeing my old tmbra training grounds mistreated. Dirt was hero.
