Big weather changes for Sunday and next week. Rain in the forecast at last, with a nice drop in temps.

This is ridiculous. 103 degrees with a heat index between 116 - 118 degrees. Phoenix is 104.5 degrees, but it "ONLY" feels like 108.

Eh, ride anyway. Was out yesterday afternoon in the heat, and then the clouds moved in and the wind changed, and the temp dropped what felt like 10*, into only the mid-90's. It was glorious.

Got a little rain in the area last night. Looks to me like it was just enough to knock down the moon dust a bit.

Dirt was great this morning. Killed all the dust but nothing wet.

Dude! Point 6 is hella fun on a day like today! I don't even have to wash my bike on the drive home b/c the rain will clean it.

People were riding yesterday with clean tires for the most part, as least south of main Walnut Creek. As I mentioned elsewhere, Church Hill is not seeping. I don't know if "that part" of Windy is OK. There were a few tacky areas yesterday on Tangle of Trails. Some damp rocks.
    Go for it.

Also, remember that the Main Creek Crossing is slick, slick, slick. The water depth is shallow; that isn't the problem. Both people who I saw ride across slid out as they were getting close to dry rock on the north bank.

Friday morning, Aug 26th: a thunderstorm dropped some precip on areas east, but didn't quite make it to WC. No rain yesterday evening or last night.

Did the trails see any rain this week? I have a group of friends trying to get a ride in tomorrow night.

I got caught in a flash monsoon Monday evening which was probably at least an inch, and it rained a little this afternoon too. That said, most of it might not be too bad as long as it doesn't rain any more.

I got caught in the flash monsoon on Sunday evening. Really, it looked like nothing, and then the first little drops fell at the end of Mark's Art; coming out of the the Shady Springs side loop, there was a gorgeous full rainbow against a dark gray sky and it started to rain enough that I illegally short cut though the neighborhood to Swearingen, when the absolute downpour began. Even the inside of my helmet was soaked by the time I got home about 10 minutes later.

It's showered hard yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon and rained a bit last night.

It was fine this morning, so unless it rained up there after 1pm it should be fine.
