    Bowie Scavenger MTB Ride

Hosted by the Bowie / South Austin - Bulldogs MTB Team
Not a race and not a group ride, but a big dirt adventure where youíll check in at as many points as you can on the Southey Trails over four hours. Upon returning to the post-ride festivities at ATX Bikes (including Beer, BBQ, Music), youíll be rewarded with raffle tickets based on points reached; earning you chances at fabulous prizes from ATX Bikes, Shimano, Pearl iZumi, GU, Swagman and more! This is an MTB event thatís fun for everyone. Fast folks can ride fast, the slower folks can enjoy at their own pace. Itís an event that can be ridden solo or with a group, can be taken seriously or not, and will ultimately reward riders who can chart a smart route through the Southey Trails. Donít know the trails? No problem, Bulldog Student Athletes will be leading guided tours of main trails, so come explore.

For us Northeys - can you define the Southey trails?

    Also, how much is registration?

We are still working out the suggested donation ask and trails. With confidence I can say the playing field will be South of Zilker, starting at ATX BIke trails in Circle C. More to come.

The South Austin Trail Network is roughly bordered by:
west by 1826 and Barton Creek Blvd.
    south by 45 and 1626
    east by I-35
north by Ben White 290 and the south bank of Barton Creek

You have to be imaginative to draw those borders in your mind while looking at a map.

Not including the BCGB part, there is at least 55 miles of single track in the SATN.

It's okay to be jealous. It's a natural reaction.

Jealous yes. But still not worth going down there. However, Ride and a visit to Via 313, then it is worth it

The South Austin weather and trails are looking good to go. If you haven't registered yet, puleeeaase do: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bulldog...ts-30963258941

Donít know the Southie trails? No problem, Bulldog Coaches, Parents and Student Athletes will be leading guided tours of main trails, so come explore. Remember to bring a camera phone to get credit for the checkpoints. Also, for the masochistic, there will be plenty of off-grid extra credit.

Not only will it be a unique event, it will also be a good introduction to the SATN trails.
Plus beer and bbq! What else could a rider want for gosh sakes?!

Yup, really cool. Well organized, and what a great concept. Everyone was really pumped post ride. Maybe that was the beer talking though! I hope it made enough to paid for those kid's races. It's great to see so many kids so in to the sport. Thanks to all that put effort into making it happen.

Excellent event and a great way to see the massive network of trails down South. Hooked up with a great crew of riders and had a great day on the bike. I'll definitely do it again next year.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support. We had over 50 riders. Thanks for supporting the Bowie HS and SW Austin Composite Middle School teams. Until next year.

That was a sweet bunny hop to win the game of BIKE and clinch second place. Well done.
