River Ranch County Park (formerly known as Williams Tracts) - MTB Trails

    Mr. Rugger,

Thank you for your comments regarding the River Ranch County Park (formerly known as Williams Tract)

The Williams Tract Blog was initially provided as a courtesy by our landscape architect firm to provide a place for updates and comments regarding the master planning process for the park. The site was never intended to be the primary location for information about park events. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Regarding your other questions:

    Status:

Due to funding limitations, the park remains closed for general park use.

    Trails development:

The Master Planning process identified numerous park users groups (to include the mountain biking community) to help suggest amenities and facilities (including trails) that will provide recreational opportunities for a wide variety of park users (hiking, biking, and equestrian) We have no plans at this point to construct trails that are exclusive to any specific user group, and we have no plans to exclude any specific user group from participating in activities at the park.

    Contractor selection:

We do not have sufficient funding to implement any part of the proposed master plan development, and no contracting firms are currently identified to assist with park design or construction. These steps in future park development will come after sufficient funding is available.

    How to stay informed:

Please contact the parks department via telephone or email, or view the general Williamson County Website or the Parks Department website for updates to River Ranch County Park. In fact, if time permits, I encourage you to join us on Saturday morning for our annual “Take a Hike” day at River Ranch County Park. http://parks.wilco.org/

Thank you for your interest in Williamson County Parks,
