    Buda to Gruene route

My hubby and I are going to do a long road ride tomorrow. We've heard of a route from Buda to Gruene. Can anyone tell me where that route is?

Or, any other routes you'd recommend? I read the recent post about the route from Austin to San Marcos. That one looks pretty cool.

SM, I think kyle posted a ride report on the very ride your asking about just a couple of threads down. I think that ride must be a newly mapped route by the ACA and they probably have a map of it. I haven't done it so I can't comment and that's probably the case with the others.

okay, I just checked out the ACA site and they didn't post a map of this course yet so you'll have to ask the riders about the route.

You have to join to get the maps, which are very well done and have guided me to plenty of nice long rides!

I do a ride from where I live (William Cannon near McKinny Falls Prkway) that takes back roads to San Marcos or Kyle, but that probably won't help you much. I do know that Old San Antonio Road goes south starting around 35 and 1327 (One exit Just past Slaugter) to Buda... then take Hwy (or loop?) 4 to Kyle... after that I'd have a hard time discribing it.
Try using the Maps link on Yahoo. Just type in Buda, Texas and use the directional arrows to move around and follow road till you get to Greane.. that's how I do it.

So you come over here, ask for some help, then dis everyone for not responding quickly enough? Congrats! You're well on your way to being a real roadie!

The River Road/Devil's Backbone route started in Gruene and I don't know where it went. I can scan the ride map and email it to you tonight. You may also want to try posting on the New Branfuels board - they ride routes in that area a lot. And be nice over there, they haven't kicked the roadies out to a seperate forum yet.

OK Kyle, I'll be nice to those German blockheads, only 'cause I am one. I'm a former MIGHTY UNICORN, graduate of New Braunfels High School. I know Gruene very well, but not from a cyclist's aspect, only from a beer drinking, sneaking into Gruene Hall because I was under age aspect.
