Picked me up one of those little whirly bikes last week. I've been riding it on and off since then and have picked up quick on some tricks. Where are the BMX spots in SA or Houston?

There are some jumps out at leon creek and macallister . Theres also a race track on Blanco outside 1604 about 7 1/2 miles called rocket bmx. Finally there is a skate/bike park at 1604 near perrinbeitel on lookout road. That one is concrete. Pads are required ,I think.

Really? When did they build that up? The only skate park I remember was over off of Austin Hwy. I think they made that into an RV or mobile home sales lot.
It's only been a year or so. But it's there. Their also looking to build several others( city funded) adjacent to public swimming pools ,I guess half pipes. So that when it's off swimming season they can pull ramps near the poolsand ,well you get the idea.
Are you absolutely sure Jeff. I think I would know about that park, but its definitely possible I don't.
Hell, I am going there to check it out real soon. Are there bowls, half-pipes, snake runs??? Cement is better for learning BMX tricks cause of the speed and dependable lines. There are some parks being discussed and are already approved. Only problem is the extra $50,000 needed for a combi-pool. The city wants us to raise it on our own.
I seem to remember seeing it from the road one Friday night a while back?? Somewhere of of the Wurzbach Pky, it was on the right in what looked like warehouse and I saw a dozen or so cars there. The end was open and I could see the ramps and half pipes in there with the kids riding.
The Holy Grail. Gotta go see this.
I still couldn't find that spot. I did notice, as I traveled along the Wurzbach parkway, some good looking terrain for off roading. I saw some posted signs on the stuff that sits right off the right. I've seen people riding farther off of the parkway. Anyone know the status of riding there? I'm talking about the section near the cement plant.

I've got more skill on two wheels than the majority of people have on two legs.
The park you were talking about is The Tank, Jeff. It is not a cement park by definition. A cement park has ramps and bowls made out of cement. These are all made of wood at The Tank and I hear they let the ramps get ratty. The floor is cement, so I get what you meant.
Man you freaked me out when you said we had a cement skateboard park.
You are right, though, SA is planning several parks for the area. Might take a while though. When they are built I will be there. There is nothing in life like the easy flow of a skateboard and there is nothing in life like eating shit faster than your mind can think. Really sharpens the senses.
Yes, skateboarding rules over mountain biking (except injury wise). But mountain biking rules over most everything else. That's why I ride.
I did not doubt the park's existence.
I doubted it was a cement park (I covet those heavily). I was right technically. It's a wooden park on cement flooring.
Thanks for the info. I love when people pass out the killer info. The Brotherhood of X.
I said concrete but that would be nit picking, and to quote myself(if in fact that is proper.) I said that one is concrete which could be constued to mean that I was sure of that one.
hehehehehe. Take that law boy.![]()
Twisty logic Jeff.
You aren't planning on the law are you? It's reasoning like yours that opens loopholes in everything. You would make a good advisor to government. Always need the loopholes.
in an offline conversation after BMTF I learned that the city parks dept would like to build a bike-specific park
I told the city parks rep that STORM would be interested in assisting in any way possible and we have people who know of other cities' projects that we in SA could use as benchmarks
