xtr brake mounting bolt rattled loose

near catastrophic event: 10 ft from my car on the way home from riding Leon Creek for a couple hours, my left front brake arm loosened enough that the spring slid out of its detent on the fork... the spring tention of the rt arm immediately pulled the left arm in its direction and the left brake pad made that playing card in the spokes sound

had this occured on the trail at speed... don't want to think about the jumps, downhills, hammering straights...

this was an xtr arm right?

that's my one beef with XTRs, the aluminum bolts make people nervous about getting it tight enough.

was there any lock tite left on the bolt upon install or was it done by a shop?

    ummmm

i moved it from my broken fork to the zoke, then an LBS guy had it to overhaul the fork... don't know if he removed the brake arms for that job or not, so can't comment on locktite

to be honest, i didn't check bolt tightness since that fork work, AND i rode Mainland twice, Leon 4 times, MAC 12 times, 700 once

boy, that wooda sukd if the brake arm went into the spokes on the breakneck dh during the bbq - wooda gotten a holler frum the drunken mob, tho
