    Question mav rims no disc

i just bought mavic disc only rims, but i am forced to use v-brakes for now. will this hurt the rim? or will it effect my braking?

Which mavics? Disc only means, there is no surface for v brakes. You will absolutly trash the rim.

Disc brake spcific rims do not put any extra material on what you would be using as a braking surface. Additionally that surface is not machined so what braking you try to do will be highly ineffective.

They are disc only for a good reason. Find or borrow some cheap wheels that will work with your rim brakes.

    Unhappy

the rims came as a set. shimano xt w/mavic 223. this sucks, i thought i could add disc brakes in a couple of weeks. i dont want to ruin them they were not cheap. so i really should not ride on them until i get disc brakes?
