GHORBA Board Members Return from IMBA Summit

Talking racing strategies with Ned Overend, hanging with Marla Streb, riding the rockiest trail I've ever seen, brainstorming with mountain bike advocates from all over the U.S. and meeting with Texas State Representatives and Senators on Capital Hill.....(just a little slurping the pro's too!). It was all part of the 2004 IMBA Advocacy Summit in Washington D.C. this past weekend. It was an awesome, amazing time! We've brought back great ideas, pictures and wonderful memories. More details later - I just got back yesterday. Thanks to GHORBA board members that also attended!!!

It was an interesting and fun trip. They ran a tight (and long!) schedule. Breakfast between 7 and 8 every AM and meetings that lasted until past 11 most nights. My brother posted a little blrub with pictures in the Austin VooDoo forum.

"rockiest trail" - what'd they do, take you all out to the Catoctins mtns ( nr Frederick ) or out to Elizabeth Furnace in VA?

Or better yet, something I haven't seen yet.

How was the reception from the litigation crowd?

They took us to Gambrill State Park, which is in Western Maryland. Cool place.

Yes, Kitty, Ryan and Susan both cleaned up well!

I guess I should have given credit to all of the Texas folks out there. We were representin! It was great to finally meet the Buratti brothers, and John from Cycle 360.

Busy exhausting time, but well worth it!
