    Any urban riders in here?

Where in Houston is there to ride? I heard about Memorial Park (for XC), but also heard it sux compared to where I ride. I would however like to go into downtown and harass some folks though. Any ideas?

I ride in San Marcos/Austin. Mostly on campus at SWT.

I ride with the SWT cycling team, and a couple of other guys around campus.

You wanna go downtown around all the skyscrapers and never ending road destruction?
Tomcat's sitting on the railroad track. Well, he hollered to the mama cat, she answered back: "Bring it on down to my house, honey, ain't nobody home but me!"

"Crying for momma"? Got a couple ppl in Houston who are good at pedaling long distances huh? Show me pix of what you consider 'technical', and/or 'urban'. I want to see what your XC weenies can really do.

It was a race where.. if you fell behind it was tough to get back in the swing of things. When you lost time.. you lost alot of time. The course was really rough and keeping your momentum going and just pedaling the whole time was the key. My legs felt heavy heavy heavy.. the new fork was a little strange but I am not going to blame it on that.

I was 5th in line behind some top dogs.. . I dabbed and I literally saw about 5-6 pass me. I didn't realize that we were stacked up like that so close together. I got back on .. caught up to the end of the pack and then a Sun&SKi hit it HARD. I mean.. i heard the THUD!!!! I then caught up to Vaughn Cavaljhkljhkhjkh ( however the hell you spell his name ) and some other dude from Plano Cycles. I started gaining time on them in all the turns.. in all the decents.. ( was the fork really working.. HELL YES. Still a little funky and hard to get use to but point that bitch.. and it just goes ) It was the 3 of us for a while.. and then I heard.. PSST!!! ...... would keep going.. hit a bump.. PSSSSST!!!!!! Latex and crap all over my legs.. then I started hitting the rims.. ( oh hell no.. I need air.. ) Then saw a group of 4 ( with JOhn in the middle ) SHIT.. got some air.. kept on going.. I could see them in sight.. but could never get back on.. then PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT muthaphucka!!
    Flat. .
Basically.. to make a long story short.. another flat later and I said " The hell with this shit.. !!" LIcked my wounds and headed back to the finish.. Going to the finish... I take the green arrows ( TT loop ) by ACCIDENT and almost plowed into Ryan Spates.

Came across the line and told them I am done.. put a fork in me. I didn't really have the motivation in this race. At the line I asked myself why in the hell am I here. I really don't like this course all that much and I am kinda still tired from the 24. My bike is about a 1/2 heavier and I think that was a big mental block also. I told myself I wouldn't DNF this race unless it was for a good reason and well.. mutlple flats.. falling .. dabbin multiple time and not mentally being there at all did it for me. I still feel kinda drained and am wondering if I am just not sick or more.. ( sick of the bike maybe )

Along with all of that I have had this naggin hamstring injury that just won't go away. I tell myself to ride through it and it will go away but it just won't. .

Looking forward to not racing until CHupa and then really looking forward to Ruston being the last race. Lake Lake.. not so much priority but it would be nice to check out the race course before next Spring.

Sure thing man. I could possibly be in Houston saturday night. The friend I'll stay with lives pretty close to MP.
