Ah, allright. Things get kinda wierd for us riding wise during this part of the week. I wont be around towmarrow after 6. On fridays, I have to go work at the BMX track from about 5 till 9. No real ridin except from about 3-5. Saturday is a good day, most favorable for riding. Most preferably during the morning/mid day. I've got a wedding I have to be at, so I'll probably have to leave around 5 or so. And also, theres the Moonlight Ramble this Saturday night... Starts at 2 AM and runs 20 miles through down town Houston. Doing that too. And finally... Huntsville XC race on Sunday morning.

    Weekend from hell.

I suppose the weekend wouldnt get any worse if I rode even more. I'm game if you are.

Unless work gets in the way (unlikely but possible), I will be at the AH Bowl again Thur nite. From 5-Dark for sure, maybe a bit earlier. Maybe Friday too. Sat is up in the air--it will either be another AH session or maybe out to Mason road dirt jumps.

Somehow get to I 10 West (take 610 or Post Oak or whatever to get there). Once you go past the beltway (Sam Houston), turn south (left) on Eldridge, then right (west) on Memorial. Very quickly you turn right into Terry Hershey Park. Park there, you can get to the Ant Hills from there.

Dude, you will be stuck in I-10 Traffic or Westheimer Traffic or 59 Traffic coming from there to where the Anthills are.

Easiest is to take 610 northbound and then head west on I-10. Then take the Wilcrest exit and head south (left turn). After crossing the bayou take a left on Lakeside Forrest and park on the street between the apt buildings. Then ride back up Wilcrest to the Bayou. The bowl is South and East of the Bayou.

You can head West on Westheimer until you get to Wilcrest. Turn Right and head North on Wilcrest and then right again on Lakeside Forrest.

You can also take 610 southbound then head SouthWest on 59. Then take the Beltway 8 North and exit Briar Forest (75cents toll). Take a left on Briar Forest and then a right on Wilcrest and then a right on Lakeside Forrest.

You can also park at the parking lot on the NorthBound BW8 feeder road just north of the bayou and west of the feeder. Then ride west on the paved path to Wilcrest.

Here's a link if it works:

Probably be there around 4:30 or 5 until dark. Dirt Brown Stinky 5. Not sure where we're going on Saturday yet. Most of the stuff to ride/jump/drop is fairly tame. If you want to fly really high we have something for you to try out (no one else has done it yet and we're not sure it's possible).

Hey wavedude, I'm going to make it to the bowl in the A.M. about 9:30 or 10:00. I do want to see that wicked scary high thing you mentioned, but dont know if I'm at that level of riding yet. If nobody has tried it yet because of the fear factor, most of the time I wont be the first.

    Aw, what a bummer.

We built a very Sa-weeeet kicker with a very nice smooth landing. It's kinda a step-up over the crest of a ridge (we built the kicker about a bike length back from the crest) and use the other side of the ridge as the landing. Clear about 3-1/2 bike lengths and you'll hit a really smooth transiton.

The feature no one has cleared yet (we've made half-hearted attempts) is a small kicker down into ditch shaped like a half-pipe. Hit with enough speed you should be able to launch out the other side of the half-pipe, clear about a 2-1/2 bike lengths long flat area to a nice steep landing on the other side. So it's a kicker-to-ditch-to-table-top type jump.

If the rain doesn't come in like they forecast I could be convinced to hit it again this afternoon and we're definitely gonna' try for a session tomorrow. We're scouting lines that should let us put in about 6 fun jumps.
