SFA State Park trails for little kids?

We're taking our kids (4yo and 2yo) camping at Stephen F. Austin SP, and don't know whether to bring the bikes. I know some of y'all have been working on trails out there, but I haven't had a chance to check 'em out. What are they like? Are there any easily-reached sections that kids w/training wheels could handle? Does the park have any safe places for lil' ones to ride? (the TPWD site doesn't list any, but they don't mention the trails either)

It's easy to say "just bring the bikes" and see what happens. . . but if there's not a safe place for the kids to ride, having the bikes there will cause the trip to suck. If they can't ride, and I leave the bikes at home, we can easily distract them w/small-scale pyrotechnics and vampire zombie bedtime stories.

Take the bikes. There is ample road for them to ride on around the camp sites and many of the kids do. For an easy trail I would take them down the Cottonwood trail. Starts at the Ampatheater behind the trailer sites. It is about 2 miles of flat. Take the camera too.

You can also take them on the Runaway Scrape trail. It circles the campground area. Easyist access point is at the bathrooms in between the shelters and tent camping area. If you go right there are a couple of gullies that you will want to stop at turn around. There is a bridge that goes over the creek that may be a bit much for the smaller ones.

If you go left there are couple of big pavers that you may have to help em with, but after that it is pretty good.

Scout the trails prior to taking them such that they have a good experience.

It's a great park and the staff has worked really well with GHORBA.

Thanks trailbob! We look forward to trying out those trails.

Also "THANK YOU" to GHORBA and all the folks who have worked out there.
