    Is Double Lake open?

I am searching for camping/biking locations for this weekend, and so many parks in my neck of the woods are still closed from hurricane damage - just tried calling Double Lake and could not get through...anyone know if it is open? Thanks!

Should be. They don't always answer the phone there. Both Double Lake and Huntsville opened about a month and a half to two months after the hurricane came by.
Snoopy was getting old. Had to put him down.

IF you get to the area and for some reason Double Lake is closed, Huntsville is just down the road and offers trails as well as camping. The trails will be more sandy and a little more elevation change but very ridable right now.

My wife and I camped and did a ride there in mid February. We were there for three days and only ran into one other rider. It was very peaceful.

Watch out for the ticks! They were all over us.

    Double Lake reservations

For anyone who plans on camping at the race in May, you should reserve a camp site ASAP. Same goes for other busy weekends.
Go to reserveusa.com and search for "Double Lake Recreation Area".
You'll need to register on the site before you can make a reservation.
