    Night time rides

    Hello all....

Its been a while but I have dusted off the bike and started riding again. I am now in Houston and looking for a possible night time ride this weekend. We used to do in San Antonio in and around downtown.

Does anyone ride like that here?

    Thanks

    Graham

Wed nights at Cypresswood there is a group ride that starts at 7pm. Weekend night rides I don't know about. The days are so long now there aren't many of us doing night rides.

That sounds good to me. Jennifer and I will be there to join in on the fun. How many people ride? Are lights needed?

I dont have helmet lights so I guess "night" was the wrong word. But in S.A. there was alot of "goof off" rides down town. Hitting all the parking garages and stairs at the alamo dome and the rock garden. Is there anything like that here?

They start from Collins Park on Cypresswood drive, just east of Stuebener Airline. The park is right behind the courthouse and parking is next to the skate park area. We have a yahoo group for this trail and you can get more info there. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group...oodtrailgroup/
They are a fast group and start at 7 and then come back at 8 to pick up more and put on lights.
I have a slower intermediate group ride on Thursday evenings at 5 and we usually swing back by the parking lot at 6 to pick up late comers. I usually ride with a group at Cypresswood on sunday mornings at 9am.

We sometimes do in town urban rides but someone has to call one, there isn't a regular one. I had a blast last time we did one, parking garages all over downtown on a Sunday morning, Herman Park, lots of stairs, bayou trails, ect.

There is a group riding at Memorial Park this evening, riding some and watching the crits some and drinking beer some.

the Wed night ride is racer boy fast. My thurs ride is slower. We have some roadies that are fairly new to mt biking that come out. It's a good ride to learn the trail and your wife might enjoy meeting other women that ride in the area.
