    HWY 6 South to G-town

What it do my roadie constituents. Just checking to see if anyone knew of a route that parallels HWY 6 through Sugar Land on the way to Galveston. I thought I'd ride the back way to the island this past weekend and almost got stomped by all the suburbanites trying to get Starbucks! When did Sugar Land grow up? Let a brutha know, peace out.

haha, nope. Just some rough patches at work and a fetish with eating cake for breakfast. A few friends got hooked up for the MS 150 and asked me to help them train. Trust me, I protested like I was a hippie, but alas, I succumbed to peer pressure. LONG LIVE THE BIKE!

Hey Kenton! Well, I've been piddling around the area looking for a route. Basically I start out a friends house up near Kirkwood and West Airport. I've been coming down Eldridge or Kirkwood all the way down through south of 59 and then getting into that subdivision. Basically, I can get to HWY 6 but can't seem to find a route that doesn't go through a neighborhood to Missouri City. I tried taking the actual highway as well from West Airport and almost got squashed by the yuppies on their way to the "new" downtown Sugar Land. Just trying to avoid some of the traffic. 6 years ago I didn't have a problem getting down there, and that's when we used to leave from Beltway 8 and Briarforest! My how times have changed....I might even try riding from the island and going North to see if that portion has changed as well. All in all it's been a great little experience in riding around and passing the time.

    Here are 2 options.

First one uses MoCity. Lexington stopped at 1092 when I was around but looks good today for some bike use.

This one is via Sugar Land. Not too bad once you get off Sweet Water Blvd.

FYI, when I go home I trip out at the traffic. It was not that way 15 years ago.
Hope they help. Let me know if you have questions.
