Lightbulb OLN Pilot Film Crew Filming CAMERON FRIDAY & SATURDAY

    WBC,

A Houston production company “To the Max” has recently been awarded a grant from the Outdoor Sports Network (OLN) to produce a pilot program entitled, “The best of…” which will air sometime this summer. Depending upon the success of the program (ratings, sponsorship, commercial viability, etc.), “To the Max” will be awarded a contract to produce a full blown series in 2004.

“To the MaxTV” is a Texas based company and only received a small grant for the pilot, consequently their first pilot is being filmed locally "The Best of Texas Mountain Biking."

    —enter the Waco Bicycle Club...

TOMORROW (Friday, January 3rd) the group will be filming in Cameron Park at 2:00 PM until dark. They are asking local riders who are familiar with the area to participate. This is your chance to be on national television AND represent our club. I spoke with Ted today and he still has not decided on a location for the first shots, but I’ll be meeting a few individuals at Redwood Shelter at 1:45 PM. This is a great opportunity, but if you can’t make it Friday don’t worry. They’ll be filming all day Saturday.

Put on your best duds! And be sure to SMILE!

This is way cool! I'll be there Friday afternoon if I can get off work. Don't know about Saturday, hope I'm picking up my BLUR!

    Cool

Put on my best duds? I never tried riding a mountainbike while wearing my camo shirt and overalls. Hell, if I did that people might think I was goin' to weddin' or sumthin'
Ride hard, ride fast, drink beer afterwards, and hope you don't break your neck somewhere in between, cuz that would suck.

As long as you wear your helmet, you won't be mistaken for a wedding guest. Especially with all that new mojo on your helmet!

    Talking SAT Morning Starbucks...

For those of you riding for the OLN production on Saturday:

We'll be meeting at Starbucks (Wooded Acres) around 7:20 AM in order to get our morning fix before a hard day of riding.

We'll then meet at Lover's Leap at 8:00 AM to film/ride.

    See you there!

Wouldn't it be nice if one of our local cable outlets actually carried OLN so, at some point, everyone could see this program? Cablevision called me a few weeks ago to get me to upgrade to the digital package, and I told them I would not upgrade until they carried OLN. For those who do not know, OLN has pretty good bike related programming.

I realize its not available everywhere in McLennan County, but Clearsource (now Grande Communications) offers OLN. Also, I believe DirectTV does as well. Mike Hail and I live in Hewitt, we've had OLN for about 2 years (Clearsource, now Grande).

You might want to check and see if Grande is available in your area.

Several of us have house parties for Le Tour. We'll plan something when Lance goes for #5!!

    Cheers.

Odd, the materials Clearsource/Grande sent me did not include OLN. I will check into it. The channels they offer in Hewitt can't be any different from the ones for Woodway.

I know you get it in Woodway because Rusty, Doug, and a few others have it. It's Channel 22 (Outdoor Life Network, OLN).
