Wumpus I miss your CP updates! I might try to ride cp this afternoon, wondering if the weekend rains have ruined that chance?

I'll try to do better. I haven't been getting enough riding in lately.
I would say if the rocks are dry go for it. As much rain as we have had packs the trails pretty good -- just watch for fallen trees. There are always a few trouble spots -- Dead river, the switchback climbs on Cali by the cedar log bridges, Arroyo(?)...

i'm thinking about coming down from dallas to ride CP with my brother-in-law...how do the trails look there?
he's only been on a trail a few times but is thinking about buying a bike. i figure a good ride will push him over the hump.
thanks for the doing these updates for us wumpus! good to see the trail conditions going again.
thanks for the update...
i guess the trip is up in the air at this point. let me know if you guys think it will be dry enough by saturday.
will there be a sunday wbc ride? and what are the trails like i havent been on the bike since superbowl sunday?
I tried to ride Tuesday afternoon and everything but the rocks was great (you called it wumpus).
But, it was muggy as HELL. My glasses kept fogging up and I had to cut the ride short. I don't know if there has been enough sun since the hard rain Wednesday to dry the place out entirely since it was still a little damp Tuesday. As for a saturday ride, It should be fine if you stay away from rocky climbs like Lean-to, Johnie, Speed Run since the dirt still grips.
Heavy afternoon dew. Trails should be rideable tomorrow if'n we don't get any rain tonight.

DGRs everywhere. Some slick dirt and a little mud.
The river trail is still flooded between the mouth of the Bosque and MCC.

Glad I rode this weekend since it may be July before I get to ride dirt again.

I started at the Mouth of the Bosque and went up powerline to slinky to torquer. There is now flowing water at the bottom of torquer...climbed(walked) the hill to the top of lean-to. The hill was pretty muddy with lots of baby green briars. Down to baseball -- large pecan blocking the bottom where the creek is and another large tree blocking the base of baseball where lean to joins up. Up baseball to outback and powder monkey -- DGRs and a little water after the 'jump'. Back down leanto the road and up and down twin bridges. Yesterday's road ride really took it out of me so I packed up and headed home.

The bridge at the bottom of the twin bridges climb. Looking from twin bridges to the river.
The bridge on the River trail a little before the twin bridges(after if you are on the old race route). The far side is somewhere around the tree.
The trail is flooded from the second pic to nearly Hale Bop.

Wow - our trails are a complete mess. I suspect we will be heading to Austin to ride soon. For now, I guess I'll shave my legs.
