    It is raining now.

A slow-moving low pressure system will drift across North Texas through Sunday. A weak cold front will extend westward from the low and eventually move to near the I-35 corridor late this weekend.
Along with abundant moisture through much of the middle and lower atmosphere, these factors will produce widespread rainfall of three to five inches in some parts of North & Central Texas between now and late Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning effective until Sunday night for that portion of the News 10 viewing area that lies west of a line from Dallas to Marlin to Rockdale. This includes McLennan, Bell and Coryell counties. The Weather Service says that this flood event is likely to be more of a river flood situation, less of a flash flood event. However, they don't rule out some localized flash flooding.

    Sunday

The trails were in surprisingly good shape for my run. Shouldn't be any problem tomorrow.

Outback was a bit slick and probably needs a day or two to dry.

Lots of slappers of all kinds and they were all very wet today.

The majority of trails should be fine. The key is knowing which sections to avoid.

Any suggestions WUmpus? We`ll start at HIghlander and work our way around. Normally take it down to MOC and work back up Hale Bop, cross back over to Outback and work through that end. Obviously no one wants to miss the mixmaster area trails unless they are not ridable.

The typical route is: highlander to MCC, Hale Bopp, cross to baseball, outback, powdermonkey, weber`s run to Torquer. Slinky to Vortex, up erect, cross to powerline, johnnie, act of faith, rio perdido, river trail to twin bridges, river trail back to MCC, back up highlander. Good fun route.See any issues there?

Outback was a bit muddy last Sunday...we did have nearly three inches of rain on last Saturday compared to only an inch this week.

I was surprised how dry the River trail was though.

Few muddy spots on Powder Monkey/Weber's Run, but should be OK

The new Shyst trail was in really good shape.

    Sunday

Trails were in great shape -- only a few small spots of mud.

The only issues I see is riding Higlander twice and missing some fun trails across the road from the top act of faith.

Yep, highlander twice in a day would have been an effort. We chose otherwise ...:-)

Trail was in awesome shape. Wheely-ing across the bridge at mixmaster was a must-do as well. Big time props to whoever put it there. I wish it wasn`t quite so far down there. I love the trail, and there`s almost no way a rider wouldn`t get really good riding there a lot.

It was in great shape late Friday; did 25 miles including all the good stuff 2-3 times - man I love that place!! The Redwood shelter area is done and looks great, the other areas are going to be nice as well from the looks of the construction. I did almost shed a tear near the end of Highlander where the big switchbacks were taken out.... I am sure the new line is more sustainable, but man does that ever ruin the old climax to a super fun section.

The first is still part of the trail, and the second is still rideable from what I can see. When I ride highlander, I ride it 'backwards' so I am glad I don't have to push my bike up that one too.

They looked like they were well blocked off with logs and brush, perhaps I didn't look hard enough.

Hmmm, maybe they did some trail work last week, but I did run them on the Sunday before you rode. There was a really bad washed out section on the reroute that needed some work.

    Thursday Morning

    Trails are dry...almost dusty

most of the park road was closed today

May not be a good weekend for riding though...

The Celebration Begins Saturday May 1!

The Cameron Park Centennial kicks off on May 1 with a parade, ribbon-cutting, kids play area, pops concert and fireworks. All activities will be located in Pecan Bottoms.

Maybe if you go down 18th/19th to Parklake(HEB) and park by Lover's Leap it wouldn't be bad.

    Tuesday

Trails were powder dry before the rain last night. They should be in great condition today.

    Friday

Trails are dry and getting dusty.

    Mix Master is completely dry.

Some small reroutes on Hale Bop -- near the top and bottom of the climb.
