The trails were in good shape. We had 8 riders for most of the way. Traction is great now. I brought a couple of riders who had not been there in a year or so. Lot's of new trails on which to feast.
Raise your skill level to the level of the trail, donít bring the level of the trail down to your riding level.

Don't mind me, I'm just along for the ride.

It's like night and day in comparing OP trails today vs a year ago. I bet those riders were impressed with the added miles of fun and challenging trails.
    Got Sporks???

Don't give me any crap on the trail! I can find my own, thank you.

For those of you still around Sunday, MITG will be in motion at 9 AM sharp. I'm not moving so fast these days so I call the sweep spot.

If there is enough interest, we may roll out the front gate down to the low water crossing on Braun and take the long way around the trails. It's about 7 miles to get to the backside of OP that way. (Minimum) Not as scenic, but adds a bunch of miles into the ride.

Roger heffy, conditions are all good-rideable. No detours necessary. (If you don't count the face slappers)

Wow, I'm burnt out. We did the "Braun Loop" (for lack of an established name) and Jake sez he likes it. It's not for everyone. I think I heard one person call it "McAllister like"... It does let you open up for 3.5 miles before you hit anything technical which makes it a good warm up. It's
We lost Kerry somewhere before crossing the north shore and we road up Leon Creek (aka Surface of the Moon/200 Yard Rock) on out to the Baumberger Nature Preserve and back. We stopped along the way to practice some man-made ledge drops and I'll be damned if everyone didn't give it a whirl! At least two of the guys had never tried something like that and after the first drop left them pain free they circled back to do it again. That was cool
The lack of carbs in my diet makes these rides a real chore sometimes. I've got overkill reserves on cardio but fumes in the tank on muscle power. It's alright though, merely a temporary issue. I'll shed the weight I want and be able to pound out the miles like never before. I'm reaching down deep to make the climbs right now so when the body has lost about 25lbs and finds that there's plenty of gas the results should be pretty damn cool. We'll see.

So for you folks that think we're too darn fast to ride with, now's your chance to jump in and get started! Wed. Night, 6PM at OP... Be there. Great ride today guys.

Rode solo today. Saw a lot of riders out there but didnt see any regulars. Led a couple of riders out from the creek. It was their 1st time there and they where not sure how to get out. It was damn hot today! I saw a Bobcat out there between the driving range and the Whopee's. Couldn't figure out exactly was he was doing out there clearing out that area. Anyone know what is up with the digging under the Prue Rd. bridge?

Jgang - No lights needed. We're off at 6 and back by dark. Come on out!

Heffy - Bobcat man is doing work right behind that subdivision. It looks to me like a small recreational area in the works. Prue road work is the city running some pipe in a ditch. Nothing that should affect us.

Yes it was hot. The official water weight lost during todays ride is 4lbs. That's all been replaced by now.

Great ride on Sunday. Great pace, even with me crying that you guys were going to fast. I'm glad I got to do those small drops. I'll try and make it out Wednesday if not it'll be Sunday same time, same place.

Yes T__, We left you behind at the whoopsies and went on to hit some beginner drops. It was inspiring to see everyone tackle them.

I have a sinus infection that is making my throat sore as hell. I'll be sounding just like Barry White by the morning. It better not affect my Wed. night ride.

Well OP is in good shape, save the face slappers. It apparently showered out there in the wee hours of Sat. morning cuz it was greasy in spots. Wasn't a problem during my ride today and won't be a problem for the MITG run.

I'm making good progress on my weight loss goal and was contemplating consuming a few carbs extra for the MITG run. That way I could either add more miles into the ride before bonking, or raise the pace back up where it should be. (hehehehehe) What do you folks think?
